I have been reading articles about women who marry their "prison pen pals."
The "Night Stalker" married a woman with a bachelors degree in English and an IQ of 152. I read that "Scott Peterson" has received many marriage proposals from women. How about you? Would you marry your prison pen pal? :) Do you know women who married their " prison pen pals? How did it turn out? Thanks :)

Many years ago...I worked with an LPN who I really admired. She took great care of her only child with severe MR. She had her hands full. Of course FOB nowhere around. She began a "relationship" with a prisoner at an institution where I happened to be going out with a prison guard. ANYHOW! She ended up losing her visiting privileges at the prison because they got caught..."fooling around" in the visitors room. He also taught her how to smuggle him in money. He was in the ER one night (accompanied by my friend) with a lightbulb up his rectum. He was trying to get admitted so he could see her. Another time, he told the guards he had OD'ed on Tylenol, yet refused charcoal at the infirmiry, again, wanting to go to the hospital. He told my friend he was in for "Burning down an old farm". I asked my friend, and he said it was for burning down an apt building that had people in it. I told my friend that they use the word con for a reason, and they will say whatever they think a woman would want them to say.

As his release date was approaching, she began to come to her senses. thinking about what kind of person she was thinking about inviting into her home. I do remember, she broke it off, but, it was too close for comfort. God bless her wherever she is! She was too caring(and in need of being cared about!) for her own good.

Let's just say, for whatever reason, this pt had to tell me details I really didn't need to know...BUT! It was too fascinating to tell her to stop. She was way older. She married her prison(penpal!) boyfriend who will never get out. He was DECADES younger than she. She was in poor health, and I had a hard time with the visual. I guess once a month she would travel to the prison and take him all kinds of food...as well as herself. There was a room there, like a motel, which he was allowed to use for a 24 hour period once a month, where they had conjugal visits. She hadn't been down for awhile because he had been "bad". I guess he got caught doing things in prison you aren't suppose to, and was in solitary. She still talked with him on the phone. She laughed and giggled when she talked about their visits, like a schoolgirl. Her comment was..."A woman's gotta do what a woman's gotta do."

Don't write to prisoners. Never did, Never will. Convicts are all con artists, they have lots of free time to dream up things to say to make a female's heart race. They prey on lonely, desperate females who are willing to believe they are innocent or have learned their lesson. Sad situation for the female caught up in a mess like this.

I remember a story about a guy in Arizona who shot three teenagers, point blank, in the back of their heads. He only spent around 10 years in prison for such a crime! That's not the end of it. He spent his time in prison getting a bachelor's degree from some distance learning program, all at state expense. Then he devoted every minute of free time, which was pretty substantial, to studying in the prison library, and preparing to take the LSAT, on which he performed with flying colors. He was accepted to either ASU or UA law school (can't remember which) ahead of the poor schlubs who had to worry about supporting themselves while finishing school and preparing for the LSAT. Why should a convicted felon be allowed to practice law, for God's sake? Okay, so the reason this is relevant on this thread is that he got married to a judge! I guess that speaks volumes about her discretion and ability to make good judgements. Glad I never came up against her in court. Sheesh. The answer to your question is no, I wouldn't marry a prison pen pal. Paying your debt to society is all well and good, but stay away from me and my family thankyouverymuch!

:chuckle Great posts I agree there are plenty of "losers" running around free. I have a friend who wants me to join her "prison pen pal ministry" project. I don't think so. :uhoh21:
