JUZ heard some news that a group of students esp those who failed the exam are planning to protest at PRC because of the recent controversial NLE exam.. (LEAKAGE thingy), the said students want the oathtaking to be cancelled because of the irregularities in the said exam..
WHAT WOULD HAPPEN TO US WHO LEGITIMATELY PASSED the BOARD!!!

i went to prc yesterday to get a certification that i passed the board exam, i paid 75pesos for that... and another 75pesos for a certified copy of my grades in the exam.
those certificates are different from the one you receive when you verify your grades... you know, that small piece of paper where you write your name and then the person in the counter handwrites your grades...that one is for free...
afterwhich, i went up the office of the BON... the girl in the counter said the oathtaking ceremony is temporarily "on hold"... i went up to inquire about the tickets which they said will be made available first day of august... the girl said they wont be releasing any tickets since the oathtaking is on hold...
INVESTIGATION IS A WAY TO MAKE SURE THAT YOUR CREDIBILITY WILL NOT BE QUESTIONED BY FUTURE EMPLOYERS.... SO I SUGGEST WE STOP CALLING THOSE WHO DID NOT MAKE IT "BITTER"..... INSTEAD ALLOW THEM TO GO INTO THE PROCESS OF GRIEVING... WE NURSES SHOULD KNOW THIS..... LET US NOT ADD SALT TO INJURY.. LET US ALL BE THERAPEUTIC.. TO THOSE WHO "PASSED" CONTINUE WITH ALL THE PREPARATION... EVEN THE OATHTAKING HAS BEEN POSTPONED INDEFINITELY, STILL YOU CAN START REVIEWING FOR THE BIGGER EXAMS AHEAD... TO THOSE WHO "FAILED" CONTINUE FIGHTING FOR YOUR RIGHTS.. AND AFTER, GO IN WITH REVIEWING..... FOR NLE, OR NCLEX....
I also passed without any help (leakage)... so you mean if the NBI proves there was indeed some form of leakage, there is a possibility that our licenses can be revoked? I can just imagine the lawsuits! Anyway, goodluck to us new nurses.

i believe it's already proven that there was a leakage. it's the extent of the leakage they're investigating. furthermore, i've read that the main reason why deans from up, ust and uerm want to cancel the oathtaking is that 10% of the questions from part 3 and the entire test V were omitted. they're saying that the competency of those who passed are compromised since MS and Psych Nursing are key concepts and therefore should not be omitted from the exam.
well, i do pray that the oathtaking would push through.
anyway, anyone here familiar enough with the nursing law? can they really nullify the exam results now that they've already released it?

guys i went to prc today they will have an announcement on the release of tickets for the oathtaking on the leading newspapers. They still dont have an idea when will the oathtaking be so they have to hold 1st for the release of tickets.... repeaters for the nursing licensure exam can now apply again.
i agree wid wat Sen gordon said in the news above... d controversy with the exam didn't juz damaged the Medical and Nursing profession but the government as well

from the way i understood ur message, i think there would be an oath taking after all. well i really hope so. did u acquire that information from someone on prc or is it posted or something?
i think they'll first listen to what the deans would be saying and then come up with a solution which is agreeable to everyone concerned and hope everyone would be happy. LOL.

To my experience with PRC, they are not compassionate as to the professionals....They treat nursing profession as purely business, not knowing that we will be caring patients. Yes, in one way or the other they have to be stricker to implement rules but MUST BE IMPLEMENTED TO ALL NOT TO SINGLE OUT OTHERS.
As to my knowledge, some students are planning to take any legal actions regarding the oathtaking ceremony because they believe that it is VERY UNFAIR to them especially the failed one and the one which PRC banned not to take the exam per se. Rumors again, some students are topping congressmen to have inquiry about this matter.
Having leakages is no good to us ALL because it degrades the standard of nursing profession as general...
Sorry if I hurt those who passed but let us face the reality of being in the SCAM.
