I took the HESI exit today and scored a 1015. Our school's policy is that we do not have to attend the live HESI review for NCLEX if we score over a 850. I still plan on studying on my own, but am going back and forth on whether to attend the live review.

I would--it couldn't hurt.

I agree. Everything helps at this point and if it is paid for, then take advantage of it.

I scored about the same on the HESI and still attended the live review. Why not arm yourself with everything available to make sure you succeed? Good luck on NCLEX! :) Ivanna

Definitey if you don't have to pay for it but imvho I didn't think HESI was really all that close to NCLEX. Then again I didn't attend a NCLEX review course either I figured if I failed then I'd pay to take a review class and fortunately that wasn't necessary.

Would you attend if you had to pay $300.00 (guess, but money)? The company supposedly has a money back guarantee if I don't pass NCLEX the first time. I haven't seen all the fine print. Thanks

I think you should, too! It's great to have a review course where you actively discuss and listen to the NCLEX info in addition to all the reading you're going to be doing. The more numerous the ways the info is actually in your brain the easier it will be to recall it come test time! Best of luck! You can do it!
And yes, I would do it even if I had to pay $300 (which I actually did). It's a solid investment in your career!

We used ATI in our program and it gave me a 99% chance of passing the NCLEX first time. I am still taking a live review and have signed up with learning extension for some online review. I know it sounds like overkill but I want to pass the first time around.

What did you do to study for the hesi? I take it in a couple of weeks and I have been using saunder's and doing tons of questions.

Well...at my school, we've already paid for it. And it's not at all cheap. Might as well get what you pay for (if thats the case with you).
This is jmo but, NO I wasn't interested in paying anything for a review course although a majority of my classmates did. I knew that I test pretty good, don't get anxious and felt prepared to be successful. Truth is most people do pass the first time anyway.

Here my 2 cents worth - I would take all the help you can get for your upcoming NCLEX testing experience. Considering that a new version of NCLEX was put out at the beginning of April and also the passing requirements were raised April 1st, 2010 one should take all the help they can get to conquer this new beast.
