Is the principal going to pick up the tab for the ambulance??
yeah right
What would be the reasoning for calling an ambulance? No distress and no signs that he took the medication. I get that you have no idea how many pills may have been in the bag, but if no distress, I would call home first, to inquire. I'm wondering why medications and snacks were in the same bag?
Yes, great question and one that the parents have to deal with CPS about because they were called as well.
That's pretty amazing. Did EMS actually transport the poor little dude?
yes they did

I find meds on a kid every so often. If the child is not in distress I would keep him in the office to monitor him and then call home to ask about the medications.

Why was CPS called?! I understand that this is a serious situation, but EMS without any signs of distress AND CPS sounds excessive.
Not my idea, the ambulance driver did from my understanding and if not the principal would have had the social worker do it. outcome was CPS recommended parenting classes.

Even more amazing. How traumatic for the little guy! I just can't connect any of these dots. I'm sorry you got dragged into this mess.
Ahh, I should've guessed that, but since autism isn't in my patient population, it's not an acronym I see.
I was thinking Atrial Septal Defect!!!
