Scenario:
First grader lower function ASD student found during snack time by his one on one with two over the counter pain meds in his snack bag. No acute distress. Would you call an ambulance immediately?

Pardon my ignorance here but why are two OTC analgesics any cause for concern? So what if he did take them?
No way to know if he started out with more than 2 in the bag and might have taken some.

So what ended up happening? Were you written up? Did the admins ever admit they were wrong? What did the parents say?

I don't give the kids a random spelling test or mad minutes while they are in my office, and then call home if they get them wrong. C'mon now!

I second this! I'd like to know any outcome!
Yes I was written up for the principal concluding poor medical judgement and professional misconduct. I consulted a lawyer and with union representation the write up was changed to a 'document of incident report.' I actually followed the written district protocols and suggested the principal familiarize herself with said policy and work with administration if they feel they should be changed but not 'displine' or 'council' me on following policy. The entire thing is crazy but when you work in a school these things are going to happen. my transfer request was already made but I know the grass may not be greener...
