I recently got accepted into a nursing program and start in January. For the last two years I have been reading the posts and responses here on all nurses. I have to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has shared their stories and their opinions because I have learned loads before even stepping foot in a hospital. Many of you have prevented me from most likely making BIG and small mistakes by sharing your points of view and personal experience, and reminded me what I am working towards and why. I know I have a lot of learning to do in school and after, but your stories provide an education I don't think nursing school will touch. I hope I can come to be a skilled and humble nurse like many of you are.

Congrats on getting accepted! I graduate in May and I remember how excited I was to start nursing school. Study hard, drink coffee, and try to keep your sanity.
Good luck to you!!!!! You'll do great!

AN has really helped normalize alot of my feelings and experiences, which has been awesome... especially when you're feeling like you're all alone out there! Wish I would have known about it long before i found it, but at least I have it for when I am a nurse, now, too!

I know what you mean.... AllNurses has been a great place to come for advice and encouragement.
I am so thankful for all of the support I received, I now try to give back by helping students with any questions they may have.
Good luck on your new adventure. You will do great!!!

I know where you are coming from. AN helped a lot when I was a pre-nursing student, gave me a place to vent my displeasures with nursing school, and is a great source of information regarding certain topics you will encounter in school.

I agree. I've been on this site since I was in pre-nursing. Now that I'm in nursing school, it has been a huge support. Love this site!!! :)

I started using this site post nursing school. I'm 6 months out of my preceptorship training from the New Grad Academy and there is so much to learn. I feel this site is really helping me fine tune what I'm learning. Everyone here is very supportive and it's wonderful hearing the diverse opinions and teachings members here have to offer. Plus, there are times when I get embarassed asking doctors certain questions because I feel so stupid. The members here have given me a lot of clarification. Thank goodness for AllNurses!!! This site really rocks!
