I passed first semester with B's in pharm and fundamentals!!

YAY OOOOOOOOOODLES! :inlove:

If the girl in class complains about everyone else to you, she probably complains about you to everyone else as well. I know better than to be hurt by such a person's words, but it still doesn't sit well with me.

I can sometimes be that know-it-all in class when questions are asked (my apologies to those of you who have had to deal with an unsufferable, know-it-all). I don't purposely do it, but I like to participate in class because it helps me learn. I'm trying to keep my mouth shut a bit more, though.

I'm considering staying local, as adamant as I was about moving. I've made great friends in the area, and I would know people at any of the hospitals I'd consider working at. I'm really hoping that my MI interview in a few weeks goes well, though.

In NCLEX world, NAP can administer tube feedings, even though I have been taught throughout nursing school that this is not within their scope of practice. Conflicting information is frustrating.

Infants go through withdrawal, if the mom was using,12-24 hrs after birth.

On the list of approved items to bring to the Pearson testing center, a pillow is acceptable but chapstick is apparently not.

6) I still suck at APA format.

You should consider buying PERRLA. You just plug in the info, and it's does ALL your formatting for you, including the references page and inserting citations is a piece of cake!

This! Love PERRLA. Although it was more work than plugging it in, it is LESS work than TYPING out my APA papers for my Psych BA. On a TYPEWRITER!

When you first download it, you can do one paper for free before you buy it. I did one and I loved it! I would've spent at a minimum 30-60 minutes getting the APA formatting just right, but instead I knocked a 4 page paper in under an hour.

I just finished my first year of nursing school, with another B+. I'm a little shell shocked it's over. I came home and took a nap after my final. It feels so weird to NOT be in a rush to do or study something. I feel like I've said this every week for the last 3 weeks but I still CANNOT get over that I can potentially interview and have a job lined up as a nurse in just 7-8 months.

I start a 1 month pharmacology class in 3 weeks. Thankfully everyone says the instructor I have makes it really easy and our final is take home.

One of my main study methods is to make a study guide. I got into the habit is sharing it on my cohorts Facebook page, to the point that people would expect it of me, lol. I'm touched that everyone is thanking me and telling me to sell them to the incoming class, as I've made 25 of them this past year!

My 5 year old totally just read Go Dog Go to me. I might have teared a little, she starts kindergarten this fall.

The hubs just interviewed for a promotion last night. We practiced questions and he said he knocked it put of the park! Here's to hoping they offer him the position.

I'm sad to that I will have no OB related content for an entire year. What is my doula birth junkie self going to do? I think maybe I'll ask some local doulas to be their backup over the summer so I can get a fix in. But, I'm also hoping to attend a midwife assistant mini training next month as well.

I used to suffer from pretty bad migraines. All that would help was icy hot on the neck and temples, dark quiet room, and get drugged enough to sleep. Sleep was the only cure. Magically, after getting pregnant and giving birth, I can count on one hand how many times I've had bad migraines in the last 6 years. I didn't realize until this thread that the oral birth control I was on back then may have been aggravating them! After I gave birth, in between my kids I didn't use any birth control (just calendar) and after #2 I've been on Mirena.

I'm still here & I hate being an adult. We're super broke & have no way to pay our bills. It's getting scarier & scarier.

-This week (or rather last week) I found myself wishing I'd joined a boxing gym instead of a regular gym. Lifting weights is great, but I'd probably get more satisfaction picturing someone's face on a heavy bag and punching the bag until my knuckles bleed.

-This week I found a place I can take a quick nap without anyone finding me. It's in one of the procedural areas which is not open on weekends. And I actually took a nap on Sunday. I've seen others use the rooms, so why not.

-This week I learnt my hospital is not recognizing Nurse's week like they have before. Instead, it's PEERS week. PEERS is a new group of employees from various departments who raise money for charity. But still, this year there was no special recognition for nurses. I don't really care, as it's all empty words anyway.

Chaos, I love you, and I've missed you. You have my number. If you need to call me, call me. If I cannot answer, I will text.

You *are* a grown up. You have a bebe. It sucks being an adult sometimes!!! I know it does. I look at myself as a mom sometimes, and I'm all, buh???

I know you are scared, honey, but even a non nurse job will help right now.

You are a survivor. I know you are.

I second that. Worth every penny. Purchased it after I got tore up on my first APA assignment in nursing school and never looked back.

Lol, I was pissed about that tube feed question at the Kaplan thing. Good luck! I begin the reccommended 30 hours of studying next week.
