-Fully Online / One Course (NSG 500: Adv Health Assessment) requires a short 2 day residency in November. Specific days will be posted on 7/15.

-This program is not a strictly cohorted program / program is flexible.

-You will receive info on preceptors 4 months prior to the start of your schedule clinical rotation

-Clinical hrs: 500 hrs (w/ 50 of those hrs in Peds)

-Need to maintain a 3.0 overall GPA in courses

~~I have couple of questions:

1)If you are a NON-resident, how much approx did you spend?

Thank you all for the info, I am also looking into Spring 2021 post masters NP psych, please keep us updated.

No preceptor,  school does not assist with preceptor.  They will give you a list of locations used in past.....and, like most healthcare agencies those people have since moved on....2nd year student no clinical placement....over $30,000 invested and still looking for a preceptor. Most agencies have down right said no. And, then if you have a friend of someone you know personally that is qualified to be a preceptor barriers are met by the agency they work for.....highly disappointed......and if the school insists they find a clinical site and preceptor ask them to be more specific....unfortunately, I did not educate myself well enough on this matter.....additionally, it's sad the school is still taking new students $$$

I was told that the program has been ‘redesigned’ and the school will now guarantee preceptors within 1 hour of your home. Does this not affect previous cohorts? That makes me nervous.

I"m hoping to apply for Jan 2021.  Application deadline is coming up in November so I need to narrow my options down.  For those of you who have applied, what was your thoughts on the application process? Thanks!

It was ridiculously easy...which left a bad taste in my mouth. They literally only want your resume/cover letter and transcripts. I'm pretty sure they'll let anyone in, which makes me question the program itself. I got in and am not really sure if I'll be going. I have been told they guarantee placement. However, I don't think that's possible for me d/t living in Hawaii. But the recruiter I've had majority of my conversations with has repeatedly told me they "guarantee" placement. I think at this point, it's best to go to a school that already has connections for clinicals and requires you to be within their location to do it. It sucks, but I think it'll lead to better outcomes when it comes to job hunting in the future.

This is what I’m nervous about, too. I was told all they needed was a resume, transcripts from my last college, and 1 year RN experience. Their posted board passage rate is 95%, but I’m curious what their ‘started versus graduated’ rate is.

This is a great question.  On other forums I have read people being pleased with the program but I haven't talked with anyone who has graduated.

Hello! Is anyone starting Spring 2021 - BSN-MSN PMHNP?

I am!

I agree that the admissions requirements were a little easier than many NP programs, as they didn't require any recommendations, but most don't ask for a whole lot more than that.  I think it's a testament to the proliferation of NP programs, that there are now plenty of seats to accommodate almost all who wish to attend NP school, unfortunately :/.  Hence the saturation of the NP job market in many areas. Also like many online programs, the class size seems to be very large.  Going on information given in the welcome session and orientation, it seems the fall 2020 cohort has hundreds of students between the FNP, AGNP, PMHNP, and post masters programs.

I applied to the Spring 2021 program, but like you stated, I’m a little nervous about the lack of admission requirements and large class size. I’m surprised there is no interview and/or references required. To be honest, I’m applying solely for the Guaranteed clinical placement. The program itself does seem good, but the class descriptions are basically the same as any other PMHNP program descriptions.

I too have spoken with ------------------- admissions counselor at Wilkes. And she stated that they do in fact guarantee clinical placements. She said that they will search up to 40 miles away from your current location. If they’re unable to find a location within a 40 mile radius, then they will go further out as they continue the search. And the student has to be flexible. For that reason I am definitely considering Wilkes for January 2021. I have already applied. And they are processing my paperwork.

I will be applying.. finishing up my BSN now..when does registration begin?
