Why are some nurses and aides such liars?

They must not like you or they are jealous or they are psycho.

Nope. I've worked in all-women groups before and have never dealt with this kind of nastiness except in nursing. It's bizarre!

he he...i always tell my friends and family that want to take on nursing that honestly, i love the job, love my nurses that are my sup's, but honestly, nursing is such a cut-throat and mean job! i've worked at a hospital for 9 years now (just a cna), but nurses are mean! cna's are mean (i'm one of them...i hope i'm not mean)lol.

there is gossiping, and lying, and tattling, and just plain rudeness. i can definitely attribute it to the stress, definitely attribute it to the amount of money some people are getting/competing for for overtime, and honestly...when you have to be sweet to pts. all day...maybe it's a venting process since we can't be mean to pts...the co-workers are the next best thing! lmao!

i never sway anyone away from nursing...but just be prepared...i don't think you'll meet your best friends at work! i'm enrolled in nursing school finally...so we'll see if it's just as bad as the workplace! i love being a cna, i've been doing it for 9 years...when the co-workers get tough...the tough workers concentrate on their patients!

I agree, that working in a field with mostly women can be very stressful. I sometimes wonder if I still want to study to be RN/LPN. My experiences were not so great. A lot of the women just plain did not like me based on jealousy or whatever reason it is. Sometimes, all the Nurses or CNAs will plot to get you out of there if they don't like you based on some of the most superficial reasons "you are too pretty, too fat, too tall, too short, too young, too old" or whatever.

Find out exactly who's doing it, then prawn shells and fish guts behind their hub caps.

Men can be every bit as catty and cruel as any woman I've ever met.

Sometimes a click can develop among a particular floor or shift. We had one in particular that was very mean and nasty and belittling to anyone who wasn't a part of their group. Eventually the administration began to take notice and it was discovered that the group were all friends, neighbors, and in some cases relatives and what made it worse was they were racist. They treated white co-workers even worse than black co-workers. The shift crew was eventually broken up or fired. What brought them to administration's attention was their attitudes had begun to spread towards their patients and their family. What you saw may have been a click of friends.

Why do women lie? Why do people in this profession lie?

And why does administration play the game with them?

I think tattle tails should have to go get counseling since we all agree that it is sick. They sneak around behind people's backs and tell lies about people and administration believes them when they should be forcing them to get help! My experience has been that when someone tattles, they have beefed up the story or are lying. Rarely are they telling the truth. And I am beginning to wonder if administration is lying about what was told to them.

How do those people sleep at night? look at themselves in the mirror?

Sick. Very sick behavior that needs professional help. This field is full of them. I am convinced it is playground school girl behavior that they have not grown out of. It's a pity that a profession like this is full of so many sick people. And what they don't realize is that people know who they are and how they are.

All I have to say to those people is get help. This profession is suffering a shortage because of the witches in it. If they don't like working hard or short then quit chasing people off.
