So, I've been going to AN forums for awhile. Just wondering if there will be any other topics relating to NP school other than which NP schools to choose or which school will take the least amount of time to complete. It's really starting to get old....
Sent from my iPhone using allnurses. Pardon for any misspelled words, I blame it on auto-correct.

I agree with you. I rarely find anything that I can relate to, it would be nice if there was a pre student nurse practitioner forum (wasn't there one awhile ago?) I don't bother posting half of the things I would like to, because they get off the front page so fast because of 'what school, where to go, no GRE, cheapest, fastest' threads. I feel like I have no real home on AN, but at least on the NP forum the NP's are awesome at helping out and answering stupid questions lol.

The Pre-NP and Student NP forums were merged a while back as the type(s) of question(s) asked were greatly similar.
This forum is for anyone, Nurse or no, Student, or NP, to post anything related to NP programs, study material, curiosity regarding becoming an NP, etc.
Yes, some of the questions are repetitive and redundant, but these Members need our support and guidance. Questions about which NP program is the "best" or the amount of time it will take to become a licensed/certified NP are all-important.
Students as well as NPs come along and assist these individuals and it is greatly appreciated.
How about start a thread in the NP forum if you want feedback as an already educated/licensed/certified NP? We welcome these threads.
And, you are correct, our NPs are awesome helping to answer questions that have been asked before.
It is unfortunate that my post as an NP student as well as the OP's is deserving of a scolding from the admin. I am well aware of what this forum is for and I believe our feelings and opinion are valid and our posts are as applicable to this forum.

As someone going into NP school next month, I would love to see more topics from other students about their experiences or questions they have, but I bet many don't post for same reasons you said. Also, when I was looking for a school, I did my own research. Research the threads here, or resort to that thing called "Google". Although, to be fair,I did ask if anyone here also applied or had gone to the school for networking purposes.

I think it would be nicer if they brought the school section back. There used to be a section that made it easy to research schools.

Maybe you could ask a question or start a discussion related to a topic you're interested in...
I intend to do that. However, if you haven't noticed on this particular forum, it tends to get bumped down. There are too many OPs asking which schools don't require GREs, quickest path to take to become an NP, easiest schools to get into, etc....

I completely agree with you OBigdog26. This forum has gotten ridiculous and isn't so much for Student NP's as it is for prospective students. I liked the old format much better.

Agree -- I don't see the downside to splitting it up as long as there is a differentiation that is upheld and posts are appropriately moved.
I find myself scrolling a lot these days....
