Hi all! Starting a thread for those applying to the UBC NP Program for fall 2025. I am an RN who graduated from UBC Nursing in 2017. I have been working in acute palliative care since graduation and briefly worked in home health nursing. I also have a degree from SFU (sociology and gerontology). The UBC NP Program is the only one I am applying to, so fingers crossed.

Specializes in Perioperative orthopedics.

Hello! I am also applying for fall 2025 at UBC, good luck to you!! I am submitting my application in the next couple days, so fingers crossed for us both!

Best of luck! Are you applying to any other programs?

Specializes in Perioperative orthopedics.

Most likely not. I am looking forward to in-class learning the most and most other programs seem to be blended or predominantly online.

Specializes in EP, Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Clinic.

Hi! I also applied! Graduated from U of C in 2020 and have been working in cardiology in Calgary since. Looking forward to hearing back from the UBC faculty - definitely my top choice with the in-person learning! I also applied to UVic, U of A, and UPEI. Does anyone know when we will hear back by?

Applications close Nov 15 and I think our references have until Dec 15 to respond to the ref requests. I think acceptances start rolling out March 2025 based on forums from previous years. Best of luck!

Thank you for starting this. I am also in process of applying to UBC! Wishing everyone good luck:)

Best of luck! What's your nursing background?

My background is mental health and substance use. I have CP in sti/cm. Last year I only applied to UBC, never made it off the waitlist. Hoping for good news this year.

Best of luck!

Specializes in ER.

Hi there,

are you able to share your process from BSN to NP (GPA, work experience, any additional courses or specialty). Aldo, did you end up getting in?

I graduated from UBC nursing in 2017 with a 3.8 GPA I think. Also have a Bachelors of Arts in sociology and gerontology from SFU. I have worked on a palliative complex care unit in the hospital since 2017 and also briefly worked in home health nursing with a palliative focus. No extra certifications or specialities for me although I received extra on site training to work in palliative care. Admission offers will be going out in March 2025 I believe.
