Hi all! Starting a thread for those applying to the UBC NP Program for fall 2025. I am an RN who graduated from UBC Nursing in 2017. I have been working in acute palliative care since graduation and briefly worked in home health nursing. I also have a degree from SFU (sociology and gerontology). The UBC NP Program is the only one I am applying to, so fingers crossed.

Does anyone know of anyone who's gotten in off off the waitlist in previous years? I'm not sure what my chances are as they didn't disclose how far down the waitlist I am 😕

Specializes in Emergency.

I am curious about this too. Has anybody gotten off the waitlist this admission cycle? I was thinking once UVIC releases their decision there may be some movement... hopeful at least 😄

That's what I was hoping for but uvic is taking so long this year 😞

Hi! I've applied to the 2025 pool for UVic post MN NP. I'm waitlisted and wondering if anyone knows if that waitlist moves at all? its such a limited number of spots and want to set my expectations accordingly.

Hey can you provide more information about applying post MN?

I'll be finished my MN next year this time. I'm thinking of applying into the post program but wondering how it works. Did you apply to it once you were done MN or while currently in it so once the post program starts you will be done MN?

also has anyone received refusal emails?  mine still says "under review by department"

Mine still says under review by department too! So now I'm thinking maybe the refusals they are keeping till the end? It seems people who are accepted know, people have posted being waitlisted too.

Hey everyone! I am a newer RN but I eventually I want to pursue my NP. I have a passion for primary care and the capacity in which I desire to help others is really only possible as an NP. I want to apply this upcoming cycle. It would be be difficult to be accepted, but getting the experience from applying, I think would be valuable.

I am trying to find how much practice experience I need to apply. On one UBC web page it says 2 years if full-time experience, and another UBC page says 3 years. But none give a number of hours. So, does anyone know what the hours threshold is to apply? I think number of hours is the easiest way to define this requirement.

Thank you 🙂
