University of British Columbia (UBC) Nurse Practitioner Masters Program Fall 2025

Hi all! Starting a thread for those applying to the UBC NP Program for fall 2025. I am an RN who graduated from UBC Nursing in 2017. I have been working in acute palliative care since graduation and briefly worked in home health nursing. I also have a degree from SFU (sociology and gerontology). The UBC NP Program is the only one I am applying to, so fingers crossed. 

Specializes in neonatal, nursing research.

Hi folks, I just submitted my application. I have also applied to UVic's program. This is my first time applying as I just barely have the minimum amount of practice experience for this application cycle. NP has been a career goal of mine since I was in nursing school so I figured I'd give it a go and apply!

On the UBC Nursing webpage, under graduate admissions and application requirements, it states that we need to provide a statement of interest. When I submitted my application, I didn't see a space to attach this apart from where we attach our resume and CVs. Has anyone reached out to the school to inquire about this?

The statement of interest are your responses to those questions that you write in those 2 free text boxes. You don't attach a file. Best of luck to you!

Does anyone know when we can expect to hear? Also are they doing interviews this year?

We should hear back in March, I believe. And pretty sure there are no interviews.

Did anyone else apply to any out of province schools such as U of S?

Hey all, 

I graduated in 2020 with a 3.45 GPA. I have worked in Addictions and Mental Health for a year and since 2022 have been working in Emergency! Hoping this experience will be enough. 

Has anyone's status updated on the application portal? Mine still says 'submitted'. 

And does anyone know if there is an interview process as well?

I applied to University of Alberta, University of Toronto, McMaster and UPEI as well

I think we can expect to hear updates by March. Also, I don't think there are any interviews.

Mine still says "submitted". I think it's a good thing your status has changed considering we hear back in March :) They have probably moved your application forward!
