Who's taking A&P II this summer? (2010)

Published

I'm two days away from being done with A&P I, and A&P II is a 6 week class online this summer.

Who will be taking A&P II as well?

I'm re-taking A&P I and then taking A&P II this summer. Each are 5 week courses. I'm terrified. But I think it will help that I have class 5 days a week and that I will not be taking any other classes with it.

My class is 6 weeks online. I'm not too worried, especially since everything is open book (thank the Lord)!

Thanks Amy. yes, I remember all those little projects in Nutrition. That class is not easy either. The exams I had were 100 multiple choice and essay. It was a lot of work.

Are any of you taking classes with dallas community college? and if so what campus and the teacher?

I'm taking the same Prof for A&PII that I took for A&PI - He's a bit peeved because my school does A&P II out of order he says. We start with the digestive system. Class starts in 2 weeks, also studying for the TEAS so I want to finish at least 2-3 chapters before starting class.

Hey Anne, do you like the MarieB book? I'm finding that I prefer other texts to it.

I got the Hole's from my library and I read that first because its so easier to get through. I still read the MarieB, but Hole's cuts to the chase and I like that.

Same here....I had the MarieB 8th ed. for AP1 and now I have Holes for my upcoming AP2 and I can't believe how much easier Holes is to read and understand. I found MarieB to be wordy and confusing, and unfortunately I had it was for an online class so I relied on it heavily. I have started studying for my upcoming class and I feel so much better about it with this Holes book. Sorry and I don't mean to be discouraging about textbooks if anyone has to study from the MarieB book, it is good, but I just like the Holes so much better.

Has anyone used Saladin? I'm using The Unity of Form and Function for my class this summer. I'm just hoping it's better than Martini which is what I used for A&P I. (Yuck.)

I have Saladin's Unity of Form and Function, but 90% of my exams are from class notes. I do like the way the text is written though - some of it is actually beautifully worded which is easier for me to digest than fact-fact-fact-graph-fact.....

me too...I start on Monday (after just taking my Anatomy I final yesterday)....no rest here.

I am looking forward to the summer session....my Anatomy I was 1 1/2 hrs 3 days a week, and i felt like we would just be getting into the info and the class was over. Anatomy II will be 4 hrs 3x a week. I know it will be some intense few weeks...but it's a good preview of nursing school, right

I think I might get a head start and print up the anatomy notes that are posted in the sticky. (at least I hope they're still there) and start looking them over.

I think Anatomy II will be much more interesting than I.

Im sorry I missed that. I didnt know about the Holes book, but thanks so much for the tip. I could look in my library for it. So far, I am on chapter 18 and studying the Heart. I have found the book to be okay so far and will need to keep using it because there could be random info from a chapter on our exam. I may see if I can look at a copy of Holes incase it helps with clarification.

i am going to try to get into anatomy this summer (6 wks) then finish up physio and micro fall semester to apply to NS in spring to get into NS fall 2011....

good luck to everyone!!!!

Good luck alyssa!

I feel ready for A&P II. I just got my A&P I grade today (C+ which I am very grateful for as I thought I would just pull a C), and on ratemyprofessors.com the prof I have for A&P II has absolutely marvelous reviews!

It's nice that I have a break though. A&P II doesn't start til July.
