Hello kababayan! :)
Where in NY are you interested in working? The city? The suburbs? Albany? If you are thinking about working in the city.....Honestly, you will have a difficult time trying to find a job. There have been several hospitals that closed and it displaced many experience nurses. The job market in the city isn't very good.
anywhere....as long as i can receive a job offer....do you know a hospital who hires someone like me?

The US is having a terrible job crisis....many of the metropolitan areas have nurse unemployment rates as high as 47%....New York is one of the hard hit.
In general...you are going to have a hard time....IF you can get approval to take the NCLEX exam. Many international nurses are having issues with concurrent requirements here in the US. Hospitals will not hire you with your US license.
But I see you have your license....there are hundreds of applicants for every position.....I wish you the best

Are you an experienced (3-5 years or more) specialty nurse? OR/theater, Emergency, Trauma, NICU, ICU, dialysis? You may have a better chance if you have several years of experience in a specialty but with the high number of new graduates and experienced nurses seeking full time work the competition is fierce and you may be hard pressed to find an employer willing to sponsor for a visa or even issue an offer of employment so that you can claim your visa. There are additional costs involved to a potential employer to hire a non-citizen/non-permanent resident employee including proving to the US government that they could not find/hire a citizen/PR for the position and that you are uniquely qualified (hence the query about wither you have 3-5 years (or more) of specialty training)
have ER and OR experience....already had an agency sponsoring for an EB3 visa....however, i lack a job offer letter...

Since you are not citizen, I would advise you to find an agency that gets you a job. Ask among your country mates with jobs in the US what agencies helped them. I have a friend who came here with 5 years ER experience and she needed visa sponsorship but since there are so many US citizens in NY applying for jobs, hospitals are not willing to sponsor foreign nurses anymore as it costs more to them to pay for the visa. You should try areas with a nursing shortage, where most people wont go such as North Dakota, Kentucky, Texas by the border with Mexico, Kansas etc. Hospitals in these areas of the United States may likely sponsor your visa because there really need nurses there. So look outside of NY and other metropolitan areas because cities are flooded with applicants. But if you look in rural areas you will have more luck.
thanks estrella...even not really in the city there would be difficulty?

The agency should be the one sorting out job for you, one of the requirements for immigration is a job offer so you was lucky to get interview done
yes because my agency told me to tell the consul that the job offer will follow...that's why the embassy is still waiting for us to mail the job offer letter to release our visas....
The agency is still responsible to find you a job. What are they doing to find you a job?
