Who is waiting for a letter from OCC?

Published

Who is waiting to hear from Oakland Community College about acceptance into the 2009 ADN program (either accelerated if it's offered or traditional)? I hope we find out before the date listed on the website (March 15)....which would mean we would have to get something in the mail by Saturday, 3/14!

I missed my mail delivery! This would be the day my postman comes before 4pm :( (I work 8-4pm)

I wonder if I can go to the USPS tonight to pick up the letter....I have the certified mail notice.

oh no! you might be on my dads mail route! he said that he tried to deliver one but nobody was there to answer. I think he said he tries to mail it again tomorrow and if not u do have to go pick it up somewhere

I went to the post office and picked up my certified letter. I'm in!!!!! WOOHOO! Congrats to everyone else who also got accepted!!

What is everyone's preference as far as accelerated vs traditional goes?

I just wanted to say congratulations to everyone who got in..I was in your shoes just a year ago...Get ready for the ride of your life..although the program is tough I really do love it and I hope you will too..I had a ton of questions after I found out I got so if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask..Good Luck to everyone:yeah:

I waited until 4:20 today...no letter for me yet. Hopefully I will receive it on Friday. Keeping my fingers - and everything else-crossed.:typing Any thoughts on the accelerated program.

I got my letter today and I got in! had a GPA of 3.736 so if you're above that then you definitely got in!! i'm taking the traditional route because I want to take as much time as I can to succeed. Plus I would get sick of driving to Detroit everyday. I am just so relieved and happy! My dad just happened to be home when the mailman came to the door but last year I just went up to the post office as soon as I got my notification card stating that I had a certified mail waiting for me at the post office. they usually ask for your ID. good luck to those who haven't heard yet and congrats to those who got in!! :yeah:

got my letter yesterday-got in. keep positive thoughts!! i'm not doing the accelerated program even if i could-i have a family and i'll be working 20 hrs a week so i figure that's enough. my aunt is also an rn in the trauma unit at botsford-she said to stay away from accelerated so i'm gonna take her advice! good luck to you and all whether you take traditional or accelerated!! :D

Congrats to all of you:yeah: I am so happy for you. I am currently in the 2009 LPN program and plan to do the bridge to RN in 2012 which is the earliest I could do it. I have some advice about sending your acceptance reply back. I faxed mine and also mailed it certified mail with delivery confirmation required. Well, the certified mail never got there. I kept checking online to track it and it never left my local post office in South Lyon. So don't just expect certified mail to be fool proof. Luckily I called OCC and verified that they received my fax and they said that was good enough. Always confirm everything with OCC because they lose stuff. Never just assume they got it.

Good luck to everyone and congrats!

Everyone, I called for the cutoff, and it was 3.5711, and I made it by a couple points.....Yikes! But I'm thinking of Accelerated, but I heard it was tough from my mom's boyfriend who just graduated this month from the ADN Program. He struggled in the Traditional and his friends in the accelerated were as well. I hope im prepared.

Do we have to reply back with a certified letter too? I can't bear the thought of it getting lost or delayed in the mail.

You can turn it into the office in person... thats what I am going to today tommorow (monday morning)

Man that wait was BRUTAL !!!!!!!

Went to pick up my letter on Friday from the Post Office. I was so nervous as I ripped that letter open and when I saw I got in, I just lost it.

I had a 3.67 nursing GPA with a 3.75 cumlutive.

The accelerated program sounds tempting but I decided that I am taking the summer off... no work, no stress... I am just going to travel around the nation until eairly september. Even though I would like to finish in 2010, there is no way I am going to chance burning out mid-program because I just jumped right in. I am just going to relax and be sure that I am all rested and ready for all the hard work in the fall.

Congrats to all! I am currently in OCC's ADN program and if they offer pharm this summer I highly recommend it! Last year they gave us the option to take pharm in the summer or roll it into the fall term with fundamentals. Fundamentals has a high drop out rate-its pretty intense! If you can try to get it out of the way. Best of luck to everyone!
