:redpinkhe:nurse::redbeatheI DO, I DO, I DO!!!!!!! I am sooooo grateful to have gotten into women's services. I know the economy sucks right now and new grads are having a hard time finding jobs......all new grads have plans of landing in the area of their dreams, but in this day and age, most are landing LTC jobs just to pay the bills while they really wanted to work NICU or ER.....I have always wanted to do women's services and I thank God daily for my career. I go to work every day with a smile on my face and I know I am there to serve. ALL of my patients are informed that I am there for them, and it doesn't matter if they use the call light at 4am, I will be there for them. Each time I get ready to leave a patient's room, I ask them, "is there anything else I can get for you?"....and while leaving the room, they are told, "Let me know if you need anything else." Not to toot my own horn, but I have had so many patients and families say, "you are the best nurse we have had,"..."will you be here tomorrow night, because if so, we want you to be our nurse,"...."more nurses should be like you".......I LOVE WHAT I DO!!!!!:redpinkhe:nurse::redbeathe
i do!! even the most stressfull days, when i wish i could get done all of the things that i want to get done for my pt and can't. the other day was just hell. i could have fit 2 days worth of work for all of the work that i did in that 14 hours, but i still walked out of there knowing that i helpped people and spotted things that could improve my pt's health. yeah! i love the people that i work with on my floor especially my fellow nurses! most of the docs are great people who are very approchable. i could have happily chucked the computer out of the window though.
I DO. My job is very stressful. I work at a drug and alcohol clinic (methadone maintence). Its more mental work than physical but i am happy that i am a nurse. I am blessed to have a career being that im only 23 to i have ALOT of time left. I wouldnt change being a nurse. I have a great connection with the doctors and my co-workers
Congrats for finding a job that you love! I love mine too :redbeathe I'm so glad that I didn't give up on nursing when I wasn't happy. And for you folks out there with less than warm feelings about their employment... keep searching and you'll find the right nursing job! I know they are out there.
I do love my job, I take care of the most wonderful group of people!!!!--, those who served our country!! Yes it's crazy on most days, I totally earn my money, but you know- they deserve the best I can give, and that is what I remind myself of everyday. If I can make a difference in their lives, then all is well!

I can't think of any job I'd rather be doing than taking care of people and learning from them at the same time. Does anyone else feel this way?
