Who else loves their job

I can't think of any job I'd rather be doing than taking care of people and learning from them at the same time. Does anyone else feel this way?

Specializes in PP, Pediatrics, Home Health.

I love working with my kids!I love everything about my job, and the kids are absolutely awesome!I also work with elderly doing foot care and I really like the stories they are able to tell me.

I love where I work too. I work as an LPN at both a LTC facility on assisted living and for an agency. I've been doing CNA work for the agency for a long time, but they should be starting to shift the nurses away from that since they became medicade certified, which is wonderful. I love my clients I do the CNA work for, but after a year it's time for some nurse work and the pay is so much better.

Specializes in ICU, Home Health, Camp, Travel, L&D.

Oh, Oh, Oh---waving hand wildly---or not. Love what I do, don't always love the politics, but hey, it's working in America.

Add me to the list of nurses who love love love their job. I work in a small rural ER; really it feels like my "second home." Unfortunately some of my coworkers are jaded from being on the job too long and at times get a bit judgmental as to how legitimate or necessary a patient's ER visit is. When I get that way, I swear I'm getting out of it. Hopefully, I won't get that way, y'know? I believe in treating every patient with respect.:nurse:

Thanks for starting this thread, Johnny Depp23! I am considering nursing and it is nice to hear from some people who are nurses and love their jobs.

Specializes in ICU, ER, EP,.

It seems like the only career I'll ever have, and I love it and hate it all at once. If everyone from administration, management and family could put my patient first....... I'd almost volunteer

It's the parts of nursing that pull me away from patient care that are burning me out. Tonight I wanted to adopt BOTH my patients to be my grandma, just loved them... they were so appreciative of my efforts that i wanted to keep on giving. Sadly, it doesn't happen enough and I'm jaded all over again... but I'm working on it... promise!

Specializes in Acute Care, CM, School Nursing.

I do! I am working as a per diem float, and I do 1 or 2 shifts a week. I recently came back to work after being home with my kids for 7 years, so the job I have right now is absolutely perfect for me! The pay is great, the flexibility is awesome, and so far most of the people are wonderful to deal with. Floating is also giving me a lot of different experiences at the hospital. I'd like to specialize eventually, and floating has helped me to decide what specialties I would and wouldn't consider in the future. I never thought I'd like mother/baby as much as I do! That is something I would definitely love to do in the future. Nursing is usually stressful and frustrating, but it's still great!

I love my job! Of course it's hard and can be stressful but I love my specialty, I'm certainly never bored, and I'm getting great experience. I work with an amazing group of co-workers. Management and other disciplines respect and support nurses. Continuing education is encouraged. Working short-staffed is the exception and not the norm. Though we've had to tighten our budget, we haven't had to resort to laying off or cutting hours. I'm afraid if I ever have to move, I won't be able to find a job I like as much as this one!
