  1. Thanks for starting this thread and for all info/experiences you have generously shared chuckster. I'm surprised that you have to take cultural diversity considering all the other classes you have taken. From the youtube videos it sounded like a foreign language class would fulfill the cultural diversity requirement. I'm still undecided/researching the whole rn-bsn thing. Good luck to all!
  2. I'm amazed that as stated on this thread it took some up to 5 months to get admitted and get a DAR from OU. They should make it easier for students.
  3. An inarticulate "Wow wow wow" back to you! I guess by "ben" you meant been. Have you or OP PunkBen ever EVEN bothered to to notice how much YOUNG nurses EAT THE OLD!!! Get over yourself. We who have been in nursing have EARNED the RIGHT and are allowed to vent. If you and op have a problem with it reading AN is NOT a job requirement.
  4. Agree. The judgemental attitude of new nurses is getting very old.
  5. Right. It seems odd that a pre employement drug screen gets reported to the BON. OP were you already on BON discipline. Or are you already in a diversion drug program when you relapsed. No sympathy. I think the BON is WAAY too easy on addiction. They get out of diversion and get a clean record only to divert or smoke weed again, again and again.
  6. I honestly think there is just an oversupply of nurses. Hospitals also seem to post more jobs than they are actively hiring for. Persistence and improving your nursing skills should eventually pay off in a job offer.
  7. https://allnurses.com/nclex-discussion-forum/finished-bsn-but-598783.html You need to ask in the Philippines International Forum many are in your shoes. To work in the US you need a green card or a ss #. There is no way to bypass this law.
  8. I'm curious due to some of your other questions. Where do you work JohnnyDepp23? Are you a student?
  9. I don't know about Canada but in the US employers retaliating by issuing a complaint to the Board of Nursing against an RN who complained is sadly VERY common. You might need a lawyer. Your license will probably not be revoked for the mistakes you made but in the US this type of complaint and discipline will stay on your record in the national data bank and can hurt your future employment.
  10. Sorry but I don't get something. Is this your second accidental needle stick? Did you have a pt with MRSA and CA and stick yourself?
  11. Be sure and ask whatever school you are thinking of how many new grads get jobs. There are many new grad RNs without work because we have graduated too many. I think some school will take your tuition knowing that there is an over supply of nurses looking for work.
  12. Your license mandates that you report this nurse. If you don't report it her actions are on you.
  13. Right. It's not "admitting hiring discrimination" if a hiring manager values a University degree over an online degree! The OP asked the question in hopes of getting honest responses. I can honestly say that many nurses I know still look at online degrees as lesser and easier than a degree obtained at a brick and mortar University or College- (not community college but colleges that offer 4 yr BSN and ADN programs.)
  14. I don't think the information is as private as users think too. About the posting of status reports-I wonder why people think everyone is interested in the mundane details of their lives. Another thing that bothers me about fb is that people seem to be doing things for the sake of being seen by an audience. It seems narcissistic imo. I call email or see my friends/relatives when I have something to say.
