Who else is having fun with school supplies?

Published

I'm just a few weeks away from my first semester in the nursing program and am loving all the school supplies with which I get to play. Besides the regular folders and stuff, there's mini-folders and nursing gadgets as well. I wish I had my backpack already so I could pack it!

Who else is enjoying it?

I just want you all to know that this thread inspired me to spend an entire evening shopping on every website I could think of for school supplies. Of course I didn't buy anything..that would ruin the fun of wandering through the aisles. :D We are addicts.

I have total school supply/bargain hunter high right now.

I just got:

12 collage ruled notebooks

a pencil sharpener

24 pencils

2 boxes of crayola 24pck crayons

2 boxes of washable crayola markers

a ruler

a 3 hold punch

a mini bottle of hand sanatizer

4 glue sticks

for $15 @ Walmart. The notebooks were on sale for $.05 w/ a limit of 12!

I love this thread!! I already have pretty much everything I can think of until I actually get into class, but that doesn't stop me from wandering the school supply aisles at wal-mart to see if just maybe I missed something useful. LOL I'm such a nerd!!:specs::D:D

I went to my college yesterday to pay for my classes....I am offically a nursing student!!! Yay me!!! Anyway, I went into the campus bookstore to look at the books I need and there was an actual nursing section!!!! I was so excited to see all the stuff there is to get!!! I am going back next week to get real 'nursing' supplies. The books and pens are fun, but I'm ready for the next level!!!

i had such fun reading this thread... and decided today is the day i go buy some school supplies :)

I too have a secret addiction to school supplies.:yeah:

ok...I was in school supply heaven today. Went to a couple of stores, and looked at everything..even the stuff I don't need. I got everything I need to start school next week! Came home, and got it all organized.

What's even better??? I get to do it all again for my kid in a couple of weeks after orientation when we get the school supplies list!!!

So much fun!!! I could be a professional student....:hhmth:

I have gone bonkers with the old organizing. I have already prepared my binders with tabs for each competency, read my syllabi, entered all the homework, tests and quizzes into my I-touch calendar and now I am "Spring cleaning" the house -- I figure it is not getting a thorough cleaning for a little while.

Everyone in my house can officially start school. We now all have new socks, undies, bathtowels and toothbrushes to go w/ our school supplies. I'm sure with two weeks to go though I'll find other things we HAVE to have. Dh just laughs at me everytime I come home w/ something new.

Retractable highlighters- The way to go... no lost caps, no wasted time during class capping and recapping your highlighters and you can use more than one color at a time as well! They cost a lot more but are worth it! Rolling book bags....THE ONLY WAY TO GO GANG! Heavy backpacks help cause back problems...Nursing will cause you back problems all by itself....so do not add any more physical stress to your body by lugging around books on your back! Pull all your books and gear in a wheeled book bag and you can bring everything with you, heavy or light loads do not really make a difference when they are on wheels. I personally hate it when I realize I forgot something at home. I was known as the guy with the huge book bag through Pre-Req's, BUT, They all knew who to go to if they forgot something!!! Including my teachers!

Now I get to go shopping for highlighters that will not make the ink on the pages I print at home smear when I highlight lines of text on them! OH DARN!

If you include shoes and textbooks, then I enjoy being broke as well.
