Love this years theme:  Gifts from the Heart.  Watched the HGTV tour of the behind the scenes White House decorating hosted by decorator Genevieve Gorder  (which I'd taped) again today --- can be seen now on Discovery plus.

See WH pictures of each rooms decorations at Holidays at The White House  or HGTV's picture gallery which has White Christmas decorations from 2013 for viewing.

Merry Christmas and a Very Happy 2022!!

I was there last week, on the outside of course.  The WH is decorated, and at night the National Christmas Tree was beautiful!

Merry Christmas and a Very Happy 2022!!

So much better than Melania's undecorated, severe looking red trees!  Definitely a kinder Christmas atmosphere.

This is the official Christmas tree that the First Lady received on horse drawn wagon and placed in the Blue Room. It's theme is ""The Gift of Peace and Unity" features 50+ white vellum paper peace doves cascading down the tree connected by the name of each state and territory ---stunning!

It's sad some can't just appreciate something good without making it about their hatred for all things Trump.   I'm so grateful I don't look at things that way.  Life would be miserable.

We're trying to put him out of our minds but the comparative contrast is difficult to ignore.  How does one look at these traditional decorations and not be reminded of the recent holiday appearance of the white house?

OK, so I had no idea of WTH you all were talking about.  So, turned to Google.

Yes, it appears that in 2018 the WH had one section with trees saturated in red decorations.   Agreed, they were ugly.  But, one section of the WH, one year.

The official trees of the WH during the Trump years looks traditional and similar to the Biden one shown above, from what I see in a quick research session.

So, I stand by my statement how it's sad people can't simply appreciate something without bringing it around to their hatred of Trump.  How sad, and I really pity those folks.  I'd hate to be so angry and bitter all the time.

It's simply your opinion that we are angry and bitter all of the time.  It's important to remind people how horrific the Trump's were in the White House so that they aren't convinced to return them in 2024.

Of course it's my opinion.  Backed by plenty of evidence, such as the above complaints of ugly trees.  Pretty desperate that is what you're counting on for people to remember.

It's also my opinion that a majority of Americans have come to realize mean tweets and ugly Christmas trees aren't as bad as the current disaster of a administration.

Indeed. Yet you accuse others of hate, anger and bitterness while lobbing hyperbolic descriptors at the current sane and functional administration. The overarching theme is that the Trump administration was unprecedented in its inappropriate behavior and tastes...from foreign policy to holiday decorations the attitudes and actions were erratic and poorly representative of American values and norms. This thread is about holiday decorations and even there the Trump family made it a point to stand out so that we would remember their efforts.

People don't need your pity.  There was anger and bitterness when Trump won and for four years, but that fueled his demise.  People seem quite relieved and happy about that, not bitter and angry.  Just because they frequently bring up his recent years doesn't mean bitterness and anger in my opinion.

But still, it would have been nice to admire or dislike Dr. Biden's Christmas without bringing up the past.  I read many articles mentioning hers compared to Mrs. Trump's.  Mrs. Trump had her own style and to me to compare the two doesn't denote bitterness and anger to be pitted.  To me it would be odd to not comment on their differences.

Mrs. Trump stole the show when she was recored saying “I’m working my *** off at Christmas stuff…Who gives a *** about Christmas stuff and decorations?”

I found Dr. Biden's Christmas a bit uninspired and normal after Mrs. Trump's flair and style.
