For all of us wanna be and soon to be nursing students what specialty would you like to end up in? I thought it would be interesting to see if that changes as we actually go through clinicals.
Pediactric patients get cancer, pediatric patients die. Children are neglected and ignored.I thought about NICU but I don't know if I could handle seeing the cute babies like that! I bet pediatrics would be fun!
Pediatric parents can drive you to distraction!
Each area of nursing has it rewards and difficulties I thought I would love L&D...until I had clinical.
I always thought I wanted to work in L&D, but working there as a CNA has made me realize I don't like it as much as I thought I would. Right now I'm leaning towards postpartum or peds. Maybe PICU or ped oncology. I'm also interested in CCU. I guess I'll have to see what I like more when I get to clinicals.
I always loved the idea of L&D or postpartum or NICU. Now I'm really leaning toward ICU or ER. I'm also interested in our NEURO floor, great pace, lots of amazing nurses there. You just never know! I get to choose my senior specialty soon and I think those will be my top three choices. ICU, L&D, Neuro.

I want to do something regarding cardiac. I really enjoyed Med/Surg, and somehow I ended up warming up to to Pediatrics. I can really see myself in ICU though- I love the fast paced nature and the constant hustle and bustle.
