What nursing skills do you absolutely hate doing? Even if it is super easy and not time consuming? Which orders do you read and just think to yourself, aw man! I hate doing that!! I'm just curious!
I hate doing dressing changes. (I think b/c we get a lot of gangrene wounds... and they stink!)
I also loathe hanging blood! I don't know why... it isn't difficult
And of course enemas and disimpactions aren't too fun either!
I also hate giving eye and ear drops. I don't know why...
I also hate having to collect stool samples... ewwww the idea of scooping up the poop into the little cup... gross
an 'inflated' bag on a high colostomy, in a 100 degree room.

Oh yes, it's really, really bad. So many facilities have windows that do not
open, and no fresh air coming in there at all. There is no escape from this smell which tends to linger in the room and out of the doorway for all to share.
Patients who think you're their maid and you are only there to serve them because they're the only patient on your floor. One quick trip into a patient's room wound up being 45 minutes before I finally said "I'll have to come back and do this. I have stuff that's late.
Cleaning up linen bags that day shift left in the bathroom because they were too lazy to take it to the dirty utility room.
I'll second the road trips to MRI with my pts (MICU)...I HATE these! Make it happen on a night shift and the pucker factor increases by a factor of 10.
Also, fecal bags placed with tubing to Foley bag for lower GI bleeds...the kind with clots that have to be "milked" through the tubing frequently...gags me every time!
