Which is harder A&PI or A&PII?

Published

hey guys...i'm taking A&P II...I managed a B for A & P 1...just want to know what to expect and how much to expect for A&P 2. I'm a bit tensed since it's 7 weeks session.

I think A&P II contains more information because of all the different body systems so it may be a bit more difficult. I don't know if that answers your question. Good luck!

Everyone I've spoken with who has taken both tells me that A&P II is a bit easier. They are quick to say that both are quite demanding though.

I definitely thought A&P I was a lot harder than A&P II. :)

In One there are many more individual things to learn (200ish bones, muscle action, origin, insertion, ect. ), whereas, in Two, you're at least working on one system at a time.

I think A&P 1 was a lot harder because of all the chemistry (not my strongest area)

But they both were extremely difficult for me (took both 2X)

I thought A&P I was easier. I got an A in both classes, but I thought A&P II kicked my rear and I took it during a Regular Semester Session! ;)

People who think A&P I was harder keep pointing to bone and muscle memorization so that is why I do not agree. I think muscles and bones for the most part are things we are at least familiar with before taking the class.

A&P II is made of of a lot of information that I never knew or seen before taking the class. That is why I think A&P II is more difficult. Plus there is MUCH MORE detailed information to memorize and understand like the back of your hand. The information is based upon systems that you may not have had ANY familiarity with before taking the class with the exception of Human Reproduction.

On the bright note, I am taking Psychology and I just read a chapter on the Brain, CNS, and Endocrine System. I did not have to study the chapter in detail because of my course work in A&P I and A&P II. Good luck.

I concur, APII was easier than API because:

1. You are familiar with how the class will work

2. You do not have that blasted chemistry or cellular level crap

3. You are studying whole systems that you probably already know a bit about.

I am not sure what order everybody's classes go in but the hardest part of APII for me was the CV & Resp systems. Once we moved into lymphatic, digestive, urinary, & repro systems it was a breeze... And the genetics chapter was actually interesting.

:smiley_aa GOOD LUCK!!!!!

I agree with Supermo. A&P 1 was easier. Be sure you have the same teacher for both or A&P 2 will be harder. I knew and loved my teacher's teaching style. I like to understand how things work which is what A&P 2 is about with the different systems. Memorizing bones and muscles is a little harder for me although I got an A in both classes.

I think it depends on what type of learner you are. I found A&P I to be more memorization and very little physiology. A&P II was much more physiology which, to me, is easier to learn since it is understanding versus straight memorization.

From a time perspective, I spent less time on A&P II than A&P I though I guess overall, the material was slightly more advanced. I liked that I could read A&P II and get it and once I "got it" there wasn't much studying involved.

I earned exactly the same grade in both classes and had the same teacher. Not sure if that helps, but goodluck with the class(es).

A&P2 is harder if your instructer is a nazi on the immune, digestive, respiration tests. Mine was:angryfire , but I still pulled a 98.4% out the class, take that A&P nazi teacher.;)

I thought that A&P I was a little harder because of all the memorization. Our teacher was easy though and told us exactly what would be on the test. I still studied my butt off though. I thought A&P II was more interesting. I liked learning how all the different systems worked. My teacher liked to throw questions on the test that we never heard of and weren't on the book though. I liked both classes.
