Where are we on MCC waiting list? Stamped 4/08

U.S.A. Arizona

Hi, my date/time stamp was 4/25/08 at 8:03:33. Anyone else close to me? Do you know where we are approximately on the waiting list?

This is the link to the MCCDNP whiteboard. It'll give you guys and idea how long of a wait you are in for. Hope this helps!

I appreciate the link but still can't tell where I am. However if I'm reading it right, are there 169 empty program spots for fall?? Looks like a lot of Banner spots open...do they fill those or do some sit empty every semester????

you never can tell where you are because it all depends on how many choices the people in front of you picked, but it averages a three semester wait starting with the semester after the one in which you applied.

banner will leave spots open if they do not find a good candidate, but every time i've looked they've filled all positions. they just placed for summer, and they do not start interviewing and placing for their fall cohort until after june 19th (that's when their applications for fall are due).

why is the most recent application accounted for over a year old? (2008)

mine is stamped february of this year.

I am stamped 6/08; im confused about the '3 semester wait' In the last round of placements (in March) for Rio Salado (my first choice) it said that placement was for June 09 summer semester (and most of the traditional programs said that placement was for Fall 09) I've never been able to conclude whether Rio places 2 or 3 times per year, and exactly how to tell how long a wait I may still have. (ie., do I count 3 semesters per year towards my wait, or only 2?) I was only able to put 2 choices, Rio and Gateway Weekend Day. Any thoughts on how much longer I may be waiting? I've tried to use link on MCC site and only get more confused. Thanks! and hang in there to all my fellow future nurses that are anxiously waiting along with me.

I am stamped 06/08 too! I cannot figure out the waiting list with any certainty. I was hoping to be placed spring on 2010. But i am now preparing myself that it will probably be August 2010. So, that is about a 4 semester wait the way I see it. I put down 5 choices. We need more people who got in for Fall 2009 to let us know when they were date and timed stamped, that would help a little bit. Especially those with 5 choices. Good luck, and happy waiting.

I'm the breadwinner in the family and must continue to work full time, so I only have one choice listed, and that's the Gateway part time program, so I could possibly be waiting a heck of a lot longer than I should.

I have a time/date stamp of 4/28/08. I have 5 valid choices and have not been notified as of yet. i'm hoping to be placed for this fall as I saw someone had a time/date stamp of 2/08 and have been placed. we'll see.

I was actually offered a spot in the GCC Weekend Day program for Summer 2009, but had to defer as I feel that the Gateway Part time program in the spring will be a better fit into my hectic life. So I actually only waited 3 semesters.....sooner than I thought.

Well I'm down for all choices as well, but then so are a lot of the people on the lists. Think about how many finish up the pre's and apply, quite a lot of us. Tons of would be nurses. And that's just counting the students, not the LVN's that decided to get on board. So looks like a wait. Trying to keep my brain working, it will be so long from my pre's that I am afraid that I will forget so much. It's not like I'm using most of it on a day to day basis. So I am pulling out the old texts, taking more classes towards my other degree (BA) and towards a certificate in substance abuse. I understand there is a A and P test somewhere early on once you do get in, so am trying to keep that fresh as well. Trying to learn Spanish, and in general just trying to wait with some grace. Patience is a virture my mother always said. She also wasn't on a seemingly never ending waiting list. I have also been preparing my home and family for what will be kind of like basic training for two years. My office is set up and waiting, notebooks and supplies on hand. All closets cleaned and organized, have re-painted most of the rooms, worked my yard over for low maintenance, have written out quick and easy meal plans for my husband to follow and made lists of the bills that need to be paid by check and the ones that come out auto each month, including due dates and normal amounts. Not that I suffer from OCD. Next month will be one whole year since I submitted my app. Maybe for my next year I can re-paint the outside and build a greenhouse and make more lists and learn French and......lol

I'm the one that originally posted this thread and I was actually offered a spot in a program last week. The spot I was offered was my 5th choice on my list and started on Monday of this week even though it was considered the Fall semester. I was only offered the spot a week before the start date so I had to decline. Because of the short notice they don't consider it a defferal so it won't count.

To recap, I sent in my app in Feb 08 and it was date stamped in April 08 and I was first offered a spot for this Fall 09. So technically my wait was only 16 months (or two full, regular semsters). Having been offered a spot already I now know that I'm pretty close to the top of the list so I will be starting in the Spring 2010 which is actually what I predicted all along.

Good luck to everyone!
