Take the poll....then tell us why? :)

Never did like psych. Didn't like being at the Psych Center for clinicals at all. Never could keep all the symptoms for mental illness straight. You never knew what some pts. might do. Aren't we all a little off, anyway? Just kidding, I think. I find that you have to deal with people all differnt ways.

Have a good one.

That kinda sounds like fun!! ;)

wish i could have picked two!

I HATE HOME HEALTH!!!! and hate LTC just as much.

LTC because i hate being hit, spit, crapped on (literally), and I generally dislike dealing with old-old-geriatrics when they are the same faces, every day.

I really hate home health because you never know what type of hell hole you are going into. Walk in the door, and 2 steps later I feel the need to stuff myself into an Autoclave to be disinfected! Yuck!

Thank god im a student, and wont have to work anywhere but the Hospital. If the hospitals ever closed, i would go back to being a computer tech.

I can't stand it, but respect anyone who is willing to work psych. It's a difficult field!

hi...

I personally dislike LTC... I did it for a while... (voted on it)

I hate home health too... did that too... absolute hatred

i like psych though...

I love rehab...

its good

Specializes in Pediatric Rehabilitation.

LTC..I just admire you guys who do that. Did it in nursing school. That smell...like the smell of impending death, that all LTC facilities have (some do try to hide the smell with strong fruity aromas, which is worse). Nah, I just can't do it. Also HATE ortho.

Love peds (neuro, surgical and rehab). Don't like medical..too many germs to take home to my babies.

Psych!!! without a doubt. My clinical rotation in school was at an outpatient facility so I would occasionally run into patients on the street. Yikes! Turned me off on psych for good.

Specializes in ER, PACU, OR.

what did that say? some of your best friends are psych out patients? LMAO! :p

J/K

me:)

haha, very funny Rick.;)

J/K = Just Kidding!

me :)

Gee, with everyone hating psych, you think it would be easier for me to get a job in psych with 9 years on acute inpatient unit and certification. Returning to work after baby.

Anyone in northeast Ohio know of any psych jobs out there, let me know.

I have found that med/surg is toughest. There are a lot of patients there with too high of an acuity to be off of critical care floors and staffing is always always an issue. No lunches, no breaks, no thanks.

least area of work ...psych.

When i was student nurse, did my clinical practice in the psychiatric department. Had one aggressive patient there. Nearly kill me. Squeezed my neck......

I don't feel working in psych...since.....:D :D
