I'm taking pre-requisite courses like psycology, statistics, etc in spring. I'm wondering where you will buy the textbook for those pre-requisite courses? School bookstore or other websites? I'd like to buy second-hand books if possible.
Thanks!

I bought ALL my books from Amazon.com and it will give you the prices for new and used!
i always bought used, and found all my books to be cheaper there than other discount online bookstore!
i like their shipping and the way that they work with their 3rd party sellers!
plus you start getting promotions, coupons, and even free 2 day shiping when you buy from them for a while
just as an example
ALL my pharmacology, fundamentals, dosage, and reference books were costing 700 bucks at school
i found all of them online (study guides being brand new) for 225 tax and shipping incluided!
and i have already scheduled with a friend that i would sell it after i use for the same price, as long as she does the same thing and we can "pass it forward"
i started this pass it forward thing where we buy books, and sell them for the same price we paid, so then who buys repeat the process! (it is kinda silly) but it helps along the way, and for short budget students it is the best way out...
there are about 6 of us doing it now!

I bought several from Alibris. $175 dollar texts were $30, $46 study manuals were $5.

Ecampus seemed cheaper then Amazon, but maybe depending on the book. The school bookstore seems always 20% higher then online. I ordered 3 used books for 50% cheaper, and they look brand new, no writing or torn sheets in them.

I bought my textbooks through Amazon.com this semester only because they were the cheapest through there. I usually use a price finding website like cheapesttextbooks.com or dealoz.com and type in the isbn number of the book and find which website is selling them for the cheapest. It usually turns out to be amazon.com, but not always. Like a previous poster said, it usually depends on the book.

So far I have bought all of my books from Amazon and Ebay, but I will use whoever I find the best deal from. I price compare every couple of days until I can find a price I can live with.
Thanks. Is it conveient to sell those books back to the Amazon after you finish your class?
I've found it easiest to just post an ad on Craigslist and put up a couple of notes on the bulletin boards on the Math building.

Go to dealoz.com and they give you the lowest price available for books from numerous websites, most of the time Amazon is not even the best price, either is Albris!! That's where I get all my textbooks. I used to get them from Amazon and now I can't remember the last time I purchased a book from Amazon. Good luck!:wink2:

I have bought them from Amazon, eBay and Half.com I sold my bio book via http://www.betterworld.com/ I just gave them the ISBN # and they gave me a shipping label to print out. I loved it. I would consider selling them via Amazon, but I didn't want to have to list and worry about them, I still got about 50% what I paid for off of Half.com, beat the school bookstore by about $13.00.
