Finally, I'm in and only a little nervous
My LPN program is a vocational school. I did all my perquisites at the local state college who also has an LPN program, but the State college is 7,000.00 the vocational school is $5,000.00 both have the same accreditation with the State of Colorado. Shop around for price. More is not always better, besides the colleges have so many students that you don't get the same instructor student ratio which can be an important issue when you research your schools. Good luck

I feel encouraged now, especially after looking through my text book of pathophysiology. I have a feeling it's gonna be a long year. Happy New Year

Roll Call, LPN to RN Students!!!
I have the same question. For myself, I decided to rent a room from a stranger so I can lower my bills every month making it possible for me to work only 20 hours a week. Thank goodness my kids are now all grown. I told them I would be in hibernation for the next two years. What ever I lack in finances, student loans will have to cover. I wonder if 20 hours a week is more then I should take on in order to get good enough grades to bridge into an RN program.

Clinical Math IV question- HELP!!
At what level of your schooling do these test come into the picture? Thank goodness for XIGIS response, I almost thought being an elementary school teacher might be a better program for me.

Where did you buy textbook for pre-requisite courses?
Ecampus seemed cheaper then Amazon, but maybe depending on the book. The school bookstore seems always 20% higher then online. I ordered 3 used books for 50% cheaper, and they look brand new, no writing or torn sheets in them.

Finally, I'm in and only a little nervous
I start my LPN program in August of 09, currently finishing up my college prequisites. The program I attend is 9 months. I could choose to take it in 4 semesters which is a 2 year program, but at 45 and my kids now grown, I felt I could do it. Does anyone advise against this, or is it mainly an individuals ability to succeed at this pace? I have decided to take on additional Biology classes that are not required for the LPN program so I could understand terminology better.

Learn To Say It Correctly!!
This site is great for beginners, I am glad that the experienced nurses take the time to write about such things. I am currently working as CNA while attending classes for my LPN, and I can see myself making all these errors. Thanks for including the little things of the profession as well as the clinical.

Learn To Say It Correctly!!
Thanks, I don't think I was aware of that mistake, but as a Student in Nursing, it helps me be aware of it.
