I'd like to know when will I receive my Nclex eligibility. I'm from California and I just went back to the Philippines to finish Nursing. I graduated last March 2010. I moved back here on June 2010 and applied that month as well, After 2 weeks, I got a mail from BON requesting for additional requirements from my school which includes: Class Schedule, Schedule of Clinical Rotation, Photocopy of enrollment forms, transcript of classes prior to enrolling at the nursing program and a photocopy of my passport. My school sent the documents last week of July via FedEx. I checked the tracking number at FedEx and it said that the recipient (BON) already received the documents last August 3, 2010. As of now, I still did not get any letter from BON. How long do I usually have to wait? :confused:
I understand. But they could've just say something about the need for those requirements. I was expecting for my eligibility after I responded to their first request for some additional requirements. I just don't know why they need like a "student handbook" as a part of their requirements. Their policies might have changed but they could've atleast update or tell something on their website. I know I'm not the only one having problems with regards to this matter, it's just hard to deal with it when your just expecting someone from another country to communicate with my school while I'm here in the US.
just curious. what school did you graduate from?
Did they asked you for the exact documents? I was trying to contact them but no one answered the phone after 2 hours of waiting. And I think there's no choice for me but to submit those requirements regardless of the reasons why. It will take maybe a month to complete everything. I just hope that after I submit those, next thing their gonna send me is the privilege to take the exam. Thanks for the reply btw. (:
yea they asked for the same documents. they even asked me for copies of my registration cards for all of the semesters that i was enrolled in the school, tuition receipts, and a copy of my school ID.. i was able to provide those and. i got lucky because my school knew from past students who graduated and applied for CA which documents they should send so they sent it with my transcripts . the only reason why my eligibility took so long was because the release of my diploma was delayed.
try calling the board early in the morning like at 9 until you get through and connected to your evaluator. this way you speak to them directly and they can clarify any questions you have.
I'll try to call them tomorrow just to make sure they have received the first additional requirements that I've submitted. And by that, if they still require me to submit everything they're asking even with the first additional requirements on hand, then I guess I really need to get in touch with someone from my school again. It will be a long process, I'm just hoping and I know everything will fall in to place soon. God bless on your career! (:
@Bern026:
How was your application now? I was told by the BRN to submit the same requirements. I passed all their needed additional requirements which is stated in their first reply letter.
However, I thought that everything will be alright, but they replied again telling me to explain why did I have an actual delivery case after my regular RLE duty and asking for an explanation from my school why the hours of RLE is not concurrent with the curriculum (because the total RLE hours that I've earned was in excess of hours compared to what is written in curriculum)
I am really stressed. The sad part, my school wasnt that cooperative. They told me to go back to the Philippines to take the NLE. But I was like, "This is near to my eligibility, why do I need to start all over again?" It is said in the reply letter of BRN that my application is FOR COMPLETION. I was thinking, if I have the letter of explanation that they are asking my school, maybe I'll have my eligibility. I am really down at this point. Can someone help me? Or is there somebody else who have the same situation as mine?
is it still advisable to pursue my nclex application in CA? note that i am here in the Philippines and i have received my eligibility letter last january 2010. according to the letter, my eligibility will expire this january 2012.
i am thinking if CA BON would still allow me to take the nclex exam considering that i dont have a SSN that i can present. now i am thinking twice in registering at pearson vue so i could have my ATT and take the exam. advise me please.

With regards to your concern, I guess you have to contact the BRN and address your issue. SSN is now a requirement but the fact that you have the eligibility, maybe you can take the NCLEX but will not receive the actual license because you don't have the SSN.
I applied for NCLEX but still getting the eligibility is a struggle for me. they are requiring much papers now
