When will I receive my Nclex Eligibility in California

Published

I'd like to know when will I receive my Nclex eligibility. I'm from California and I just went back to the Philippines to finish Nursing. I graduated last March 2010. I moved back here on June 2010 and applied that month as well, After 2 weeks, I got a mail from BON requesting for additional requirements from my school which includes: Class Schedule, Schedule of Clinical Rotation, Photocopy of enrollment forms, transcript of classes prior to enrolling at the nursing program and a photocopy of my passport. My school sent the documents last week of July via FedEx. I checked the tracking number at FedEx and it said that the recipient (BON) already received the documents last August 3, 2010. As of now, I still did not get any letter from BON. How long do I usually have to wait? :confused::confused::confused:

Hi there! Where in CA are you located (Pinaylala, Hop3, Jtanga, etc.)? We can have a study group if you happen to be in NorCal.

Hey sunshine999. I'm from SoCal. Good luck in reviewing :). we can do this!!

Hi Sunshine I'm not from California :) I'm currently residing here in Connecticut.. I just applied in BRN California because they don't need CGFNS not like here in CT..

Good Luck to all of Us :)

Update:

I called BON today and they said that they haven't received anything from my school. My school sent the additional requirements last July 28, 2010 via FedEx. I tracked the documents, and FedEx indocated that it was delivered and signed by a BON employee on August 2nd. It was signed!! The person I talked with at BON said that happens a lot so I'm going to have to ask my school again to send those requirements. Omg..it's so difficult to get all those from my school again since it requires all the signature of my clinical instructors (take not: If you went to school in the Philippines, Clinicals are not only in the same city but also in different provinces) so it's going to be difficult to track those instructor's down for their signature. I believe that BON has it in they're office under load and loads of other applicant's documents. Really frustrating! :mad::mad: I'm going to call BON again tomorrow. I hope they find my documents.

This is the very reason why it's NOT recommended that one go abroad in order to get a nursing education. Too much paperwork, and lots of frustration that comes with it. You may have better luck if you post on the international forum. There are many people like you who are experiencing what you have so far. Good Luck

Pinaylala21, did filled those requirements forms for nclex before you flew back to Cali? Because that's what I did before I left and flew back here, I made sure that all of the paper works I needed are processed. You should have included a letter stating why you didn't take the local boards because they said it's easier for them to process your eligibility. Just ask somebody you know in the Philippines to help you process whatever the BON needs from your school rather than calling them it'll speed up the processing. Let me know if you have any questions, goodluck!

Hi aspiringnurs. Thanks for replying. If you're talking about the nursing program verification and the 2 other forms, yes I gave those forms to the dean of my school for them to fill out and send along with my transcript. That's all done already before I left the Philippines. I also wrote a letter of explanation on why I don't have a Phil. license/why I didn't take the Phil. board. Two weeks after I applied, I got a letter from BON asking for additional requirements (class schedule, clinical rotation schedule, enrollment forms). I did call somebody in the Phil to get all those information again. It's just going to take another month or so because signatures of all my clinical intructor's are needed for the clinical rotation schedule. :(:(

Make sure attach a photocopy of letter that you received from the BON. So that your documents will not get lost in the BON office :D.

Update: I just received my eligibility letter from California Board of Registered Nursing..

@PinayLala: I agree with jtanga you should attach a photocopy of their letter.. which I also did. Good Luck!

@HOP3: That's awesome! Good luck reviewing and of course on the actual exam!!

@PinayLala; thanks.. same to you...
