is there anyone else as sick and tired as i am of these pre nursing classes. they seem to just never end. i have been working on these pre rn classes for 10 years and the list seems longer now than when i started. im finishing up my sciences in aug perhaps that will help.

Y'all must be going for your BSNs. At my community college, you only need to take about 6-7 prereqs to get in to the nursing stuff. But then, you only get your ADN at the end.
Oh I wish. Our pre-req for ADN are
A&P I (but it has a bio prereq)
A&PII
Chem
Eng 101
Micro
Psych
Critical Reading
Intermediate Algebra
Medical Terminology
Health care core
CNA class or cert
then you have co-reqs during the program (I just need patho and then will only have nursing classes. Yippe :balloons: )
Eng 102
Patho
Humanities elective
Nutrition
If you are going BSN you don't have to take the last 3 of the pre-reqs but you add on
Eng 102
Stats
Patho
Healthcare ethics
Human development
Health Care Organizations
Culture and Health
Humanities or Social Behavioral Elective
Human Nutrition
Principles of Sound Reasoning
Two or four year degree my butt.
Who the heck cares about Humanities and art appreciation...ICK! I don't want to be well rounded!![]()
LOL!!!!! I'm going for my ADN, then do the RN-BSN. I call it "stepping stones", that way I don't get total burn out before my long-term goal. Luckily, my school only requires 3 prereqs, and about 5 co-reqs. I have taken 4 of those 8 classes already, and am currently taking the 5th. By Jan 06, I hope to be in the RN progam, with all non-nursing courses out of the way.
Good luck to all of you! :)
Okay,
I CAN relate! I transferred here from the U of AZ as a pre-nursing, pre-health ed major (DH is in the military) and have had to go to school (@ UNLV; University NV, Las Vegas) an additional year just to get my pre-wrecks done! Little good it did me, I got a B- in Micro (3rd try for a B, last Spring) and am no longer eligible for the BSN program for a total of 3 yrs @ UNLV. My solution; I will be graduating w/my BS in Health Ed this May (YEAH!) (I WAS a double major) and will be applying for Nevada State's BSN accelerated program for those already w/a Bachelor degree this next fall. Pricey? Yes! Worth it? TOTALLY! I have wanted nothing more in my life since I went back to school 5 1/2 yrs ago. I am maxed out on credits and will graduate w/a 169 whopping credits. My student loans r already at $30,000+, so I will be searching for a scholarship from one of the local hospitals for NSC. I wouldn't trade the extra time & money that I have paid for anything! Everything that I have learned thus far has only served to make me a smarter, happier and self-fulfilled woman! I hate to say it, but I'm glad I needed the extra classes! (UNLV is a great school too!) And I figure what doesn't kill me can only serve to make me a better, more compassionate wife, mom, CNM and nurse! Good Luck everyone! I will achieve my dreams!

This is a fact. I am stil taking pre- classes , but will apply to nursing school Friday after the dreaded NET.....:w00t: I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Im not sure there is anything at the CC left for me to take...:rotfl:
The answer to your question is right before you rstart nursing school, or somewhat before you give up. Good luck
you are telling me!
I have a BS (biology degree). Graduated over 10 years ago. I had over 140 college hours on my degree and had to go take 30 more hours for NURSING pre-reqs. HELLO - I have a BIOLOGY DEGREE (and a Chemistry minor)....... so I am with ya...
I took 14 hours at TCC in summer (AP1 + lab, AP2 + lab, Intro Psych, Sociology) and then took 17 hours in the Fall (Religion, Growth and Development, Music, Nutrition, and Spanish II). Now, I am done until TCU nursing school starts in May.... yipppppppppppppie..... I cannot wait for REAL school to start now that I have all those little pesky pre-reqs done.
Go FROGS!
This is great ,good luck to ya. How was religion at TCC? I will have to take it soson.:)

I enjoyed the class. I liked learning about other religions - it helped explain "WHY" the followers do some of the things they do. I had a male teacher with the initials K.S. - he made the class interesting. His tests were not difficult - come to class and pay attention and you will do well. Don't want to mention names on the board (against the rules???), but I don't think too many professors teach World Religion at TCC (NE campus) - so just look up those initials when you register for classes.
Good luck in your studies!
