  1. It means nothing. Just wait the few days to get the results. Good luck!
  2. Avoid North Vista Hospital, Sunrise m/s can be brutal (but they're a great company to work - HCA) & Summerlin can be a bit crazy (I had 9 pts on nights, the average, one night I had 2 that needed blood & 3 that we on Fall precautions, & 4 that needed antibiotics). Worst ratios are Sunrise 8-10pts on day shift (but they pull all your meds for you, so that helps). Definitely avoid Desert Spring (nurses tell me it's bad). So, I personally have liked Mt View (meds pulled for you also, & they are HCA), I hear UMC is a great company to work for, as is the St Rose hospitals (but St Rose is down-grading, so this is subject to change). I have worked as an agency nurse for several, so most of this is my personal opinion.
  3. This is so awesome! Congrats! I'm coming from NV, you?? I have my ph interview this morning... nervous!
  4. Natasha, will you be joining me next month in KY? I am excited, as I have been accepted into Class 84!
  5. Hear anything yet Natasha?? ~Marianne Taking 1 day at a time. My hubby passed suddenly 09/20/2010. Miss you Baby!
  6. CNM's from Frontier are everywhere!
  7. Thanks for responding Tasha! I am getting sooo anxious! As I'm sure you r! I will PM u to give you my private email... ~Marianne
  8. Natasha, Here anything yet??? I'm checkin my email everyday! ~Marianne
  9. Ditto. It's had to find a job out here too. I got luck & came in thru "the backdoor". Hehhee. Actually a business card I gave out at a conference panned out when an LC was looking for her replacement! Sadly I get called off a lot. Hence, why I decided this would be a good time to apply. Good luck! ~MJ
  10. WOW! Since May? That's when I 1st started to look at attending this fall! I have always wanted to go to FSN & have had plans since prior to attending NS. The reason I went into nursing was to become a CNM. What about you?? ~MJ
  11. You get to pick.... I think! But from what I read it looks like NP. But call or email w/questions if you need too. They seem very nice in my emails I've gotten from them. ~MJ
  12. Go straight to the NM of the hospital & unit you want to work in, is my best advise. Then keep coming back... you have to be persistant & do a lot of face time. Here in Vegas "it's not what you know, it's who you know." So, network, network, network! After 4 job searchs I ought to know! Good luck, ~MJ
  13. Yeah, me too! Thanks!
  14. I applied to the same class! Nice to find someone else here! I live in Vegas. You??? Feel free to pm me @ my msn email. Nice to find someone else that applied! ~Marianne
  15. I work as a CLC on a pp unit. I get called off more than you would realize. I would love to come in on NS & need to start working on making that happen. You r right about the eye rolling & the nursery nurses! We had a required lecture last month for breastfeeding. Perhaps you could recommend this to your NM? Rumor has it that JACHO is going to be looking for CORE measures for breastfeeeding in the near future! Perhaps this is how you could address this? Signed, happy to no longer hear "your baby is using you as a pacifier & your letting him (her)!" ~MJ
