    Anyone else apply to Frontier?

Ditto. It's had to find a job out here too. I got luck & came in thru "the backdoor". Hehhee. Actually a business card I gave out at a conference panned out when an LC was looking for her replacement! Sadly I get called off a lot. Hence, why I decided this would be a good time to apply. Good luck! ~MJ

    Anyone else apply to Frontier?

WOW! Since May? That's when I 1st started to look at attending this fall! I have always wanted to go to FSN & have had plans since prior to attending NS. The reason I went into nursing was to become a CNM. What about you?? ~MJ

You get to pick.... I think! But from what I read it looks like NP. But call or email w/questions if you need too. They seem very nice in my emails I've gotten from them. ~MJ

Las Vegas - NOT new-grad friendly

Go straight to the NM of the hospital & unit you want to work in, is my best advise. Then keep coming back... you have to be persistant & do a lot of face time. Here in Vegas "it's not what you know, it's who you know." So, network, network, network! After 4 job searchs I ought to know! Good luck, ~MJ

    Breastfeeding support by HCPs

I work as a CLC on a pp unit. I get called off more than you would realize. I would love to come in on NS & need to start working on making that happen. You r right about the eye rolling & the nursery nurses! We had a required lecture last month for breastfeeding. Perhaps you could recommend this to your NM? Rumor has it that JACHO is going to be looking for CORE measures for breastfeeeding in the near future! Perhaps this is how you could address this? Signed, happy to no longer hear "your baby is using you as a pacifier & your letting him (her)!" ~MJ

    Breastfeeding support by HCPs

don't quit! Hang in there GF! Go to an LLLI meeting... in my experience babies don't bf for the milk when they get into their toddlers yrs, its more comfort in my experience. Going to an LLLI meeting will help u to meet another mother who is probably feeling the same way you do. And remember: just bc they turn 1yr doesn't mean they suddenly stop being a baby. Either way: congrats on making it to 1 yr! Good job!
