What's the weirdest baby name?

Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!

I knew a man who named his daughter Mishell Johnetta. When I was doing my CMA clinical I had a patient with an African name. I could NOT pronounce his name b/c there were NO vowels. It was all consonants. It started with a "Y" and ended with a "Z." The boys name had 15 letters.

Dasani first name and waters as the last name...Also Cunae but parents swearing the name is "sanIya". My 4 year old has a Princess and a Laprincess in her daycare..they are sisters. I worked with one lady that named her children Autum Rayne, Summer Skye, And Winter Forrest.

D'AlCapone AlPacino Morris. Pronounced Day AL Capone AL Pacino..... after two gangsters no less.

Did anyone see Oprah Winfrey on David Letterman a couple years ago? No, not THAT Oprah Winfrey - instead, this was a 15-year-old girl whose parents, Mr. and Mrs. Winfrey, named her after a daytime TV host and humanitarian.

When I was in college in the early 1990s, a woman in the class ahead of me got married, and considered keeping her maiden name because her new name would be that of a top celebrity, Cindy Crawford. She decided to change it, in part because of that very real possibility that in 5 years, nobody would remember THAT Cindy Crawford.

p.s. The launch of Cialis was delayed by a year or so because some people with the surname Cialis sued the drug company to change the name. They didn't win.

In the last month, we have had two uniquely named newborns:

"Galaxy Puff" and "Zen Revolution"

Taking the time to read through this entire thread (groan at the jellos in particular), I stumbled across this post and had to say that my youngest son was almost named Zen Revelation by his father... I fought the good fight, though, and he wound up Elijah Monroe... lol... I am sad that someone else had taste as bad as my late husband did with baby names... oi

my daughter (middle child) was almost Summer Skye ... but she was an October baby, and everyone said it made no sense no matter how much I liked the name Summer.. lol... so I gave in to reason and went with my 2nd favorite - Taylor. (After the singer Taylor Dayne - beautiful voice, loved the name) Oddly enough, she has had lots of male classmates with the name Taylor but not one female classmate with her name.. poor kid. I never thought of it as a boy's name. The middle name stuck because (*blush*) I had heard a soap opera character named that and fell in love with it... I think Skye for a girl is such a pretty name... lol

Jihad really means to strive, to put forth your best effort towards something. It's an internal/spiritual concept. War is a secondary meaning of the word. Unfortunately, most people only know the secondary meaning and don't understand it's true meaning.

Yes, I was enlightened by a fellow nurse who was named Jihad. He explained it quite well to me. Unfortunately, there were some patients (parents) that didn't get the opportunity for this explanation, or weren't open to it.
