Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!
I heard a mother in the grocery store calling her (2 y.o.?) son "Sir"
In 40 years, everyone will know exactly how old Katniss and Haymitch are (and you just know those names will be spelled multiple ways too).
As for Candida, that's a fairly common Hispanic name and in the early 1970s was the title of a hit song by Tony Orlando. It's pronounced "can-dee-da".
Javareonta (pronounced Java-ron-tay) - poor kindergartener could not spell his name past Java. Sincere Amir...what else Jimma'rah (pronounced Jimari). La-ah (pronounced La-dash-ah)
One of the nurses in our OB/GYN office knew of a patient that named her baby "chlamydia"!
I know someone at work who has a neice named "Halloween Lullaby"!

are you kidding me :uhoh21:
There is a set of twins in Baton Rouge with the names Lemonjello and Orangejello....they visited the ER and mom got upset when there names were called by the triage nurse as 'lemon jello' and 'orange jello'
La-a...pronounced "la-dash-a"...by far the most odd name I've heard.

I would have called the names the same way!
I find this thread completely unprofessional.

Just last night I met a My'Queen & My'King. I thought it was a joke. I laughed. Then I realized mama wasn't. Also met a Renesmee (from Twilight) the other day.
