Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!
I knew a Nevaeh (who at 3 years old would proudly tell everyone her name was "heaven" spelled backwards). Also a Kai'onn (pronounced Ki (rhymes with sky) on-had to teach him how to spell his name too!)
Yikes. My thoughts on the series as well, also on vampires, werewolves and zombies. Except the really hilarious Zombieland.
Ohhh!! That's almost as good as the kid named Meconium! (seriously, people.)
My latest the other day was Forever Unique. Not sure yet if it trumps Ya Hyness for my best weird name?? Stori Thyme...oh dear!!
I have a cousin who just gave his new daughter juniper as her middle name, first name is normal though. I also have another cousin who is half native who's Dad wanted to call him Bluemoon. My aunt refused, but he still ended up with it as his middle name, and yes he got teased about it, and eventually just embraced it. I also know a Calvin Jean- at least his middle name isn't Kline.
We now have Blue Ivy to add to the list yes?...
Oh wait they tm it right? :rotfl:
Years ago when I was working in the NBN, we had a sweet baby girl in there with the last name of Sheets. You guessed it, they gave her the first name of Satin.
I was a techer before going back to school. Some of the names that made me wonder about the parents and feel sorry for the children were Choice, Rejoice. The mother said she named her choice because she made the choice to have her and Rejoice ( I did kind of like this name) because she " rejoiced" when she had him. The other one was Dejon like the mustard. The name was fine, but the spelling caused some teasing for the child. The last one only raised eyebrows for the Spanish speakers and that was Cajones.
my husband would love to name our child (when we have one) Boppy! Like the Boppy pillow. I squashed that one but he realllllly likes the name
