Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!
I don't get it?
Half-vampire child from the Twilight series.
I've not read nor seen anything from that series but people at work were discussing stupid names and this one came up!

Thanks for explaining. I didn't get it either. Now that I've gotten it, I don't want it. I'm just mad that the Twilight series took two of my favorite names, Jacob and Bella, and cast a shadow over them.
That entire series irritates me. The vampire vs. werewolf deal is just silly. Zombies are much better. At least the campy, over-the-top ones are. And they don't take themselves so seriously. Add to that the fact that zombies don't freak out over garlic and you can take them out to a nice Italian restaurant. Much nicer companions all the way around.
This Twilight kid, was that a boy or a girl. And was there any particular significance to the name?
Renesmee....
She said it was for a girl, and it was her mother's name...Renee, and Edward's mother's name.....Esmee, combined.
Dizz and rn/writer.....Thanks fo asking the question, because it didn't make any sense to me, either. Now I see why! I was 'over' vampires after I read a couple of vampire books by Anne Rice when they first came out....when?...back in the '70's?
Here's how I feel about the Twilight series:
And furthermore, Robert Pattison ain't 'all that'.

Thanks. But gag.
Is it pronounced Ren-es-mee or Ren-es-may (the French pronunciation of Esmee)?
The second would be slightly less annoying.
Ren-es-may
Twins named Secret and Simone. Secret because the mom didn't know she was having twins until baby 2 popped out (no prenatal care and drugs were involved). The worst are two girls I used to work with. One named Rotunda and yes, she was rotund...the other was Cocainia. Hmmm wonder what her moms drug of choice was....
I've heard of a CeeCret

Someone told me about this at work the other night. And the sad thing is, it WILL become a real baby name soon.
