Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!
twins named "Lucipher" and "Satan"- no kidding. No amount of visits from social workers, hospital admin, the state could convince mom to change her mind, poor babies:(
Sometimes I think we should have laws, as they do in some European countries, that don't allow certain names (Holland, I think, for one)
I went to school with a girl named Magic and her sister's name was sparkle. My sister went to school with a girl named Pepsi. Crazy names. My mom's great aunt was named Pansy Blossom! I also have twin cousins named Random and Blayze, their younger brother is named Kraven.
Is Random a 'girls' name or a 'boys' name? I used to know a guy named Ransom; he said the story of his life was everybody always saying to him..."Don't pay the Ransom".....
I wonder if Sparkle's folks used to watch "Laugh-In"; there was a recurring skit with The Farkle Family, and the youngest dgt. was Sparkle Farkle.
Posted this elsewhere because it's not about a mother naming her baby; I saw in an obit for a guy in his 90's, his dad was named ANACIN !
Ya Hyness....for a boy!! :)
I want to post a big, laughing mouth here .... but I am afraid that poster would come back with "RESPECT the NAME!!" again.
I'm sorry, but 'Ya Hyness' is funny!
Adolf Hitler has been taken into foster care....

My kids have odd middle names- MIDDLE names- our son's middle name is Severus (YES as in Snape) and our daughter's is Rain. But if they choose to go by their middle names, then that's their problem.
So anyway, I worked in peds, and here are some of my personal favorites:
Arson
Felony
Consequence
L'Diamond
Bich (cultural)
Babee
Miss Ladie
Mister (they were siblings)
Tequila
Margarita
Brandy
Shampayne (sibs)
Dazzaling
Umajezzesty
Patch
Bush (the mom thought Dubya was the best president ever)
Sunryze
Sunset
Areola
Sir
We had a variety of Queen, King, Prince Princess, but I never saw any "Jester" or "Squire" or "Dutchess"...odd.

Maybe Random, Blayze, and Arson's parents were all friends.

Breaks my heart. Had a Cocain Lucifer earlier in the year, but I'm thankful that the sweet baby wasn't on this earth long and never had to bear his name.
