Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!
Years ago I worked in an pediatric out-patient/specialty clinic environment. I ran across some unusual names, but this one took the cake! One of our regular patients was Iwillariseandmeetjesusinthemorning (one word). Of course, the name she went by was Iwilla. I often wondered what became of this little girl!

I just googled that name, to see if she came up anywhere on the internet, and it came up with this post already. Google is FAST!!!!
Here in just a couple of years, any kindergarten in the nation will get responses from at least half the class by calling:
Nevaeh
Jaden (Jayden, Jadyn, Jaedn, Jadn, Jaeden, Jaedan)
I don't dislike these names, I just don't think parents trying to be unusual realize how common they are.
Jaden (Jayden, Jadyn, Jaedn, Jadn, Jaeden, Jaedan)
You missed one... I personally know a boy named Jaden but spelled Jadden. His brother is named Justin but spelled Jesten.
In both cases the parents pronounce the name the way the "normal" spelling would be pronounced. I don't think they even realize that their sons, phonetically, should be called Jadd-Den and Jess-Ten.
The other day we had a checker in Wally World who was a nice, but awkward young man who looked like he wasn't yet comfortable with his newly-tall (6'2" or 6'3") body. Very helpful and kind, but hunched over and jerky with his movements. He also had a strange kind of haircut that left him looking out between long, stringy bangs. I think his name would have been pronounced Jared, but it was spelled Jarred. As in given a good jolt. As in had his bell rung. As in stunned.
I said to dh that it was an unfortunate variation considering his rather shell-shocked appearance, and he agreed.
I get that people want to be original, but it doesn't always work out the way they planned.
I had a patient named Velvet Lace and her older brother was Jesse James. My kids are named Drake and Josh (I had them way before the Nickelodeon show) and we always get strange looks from people.
My fiances little brother played football with a kid name Chevy Pride...
Seller... i actually like that name
Dreamer...
Northcross....

i can't quite place it, but i think that is from a book i remember reading years ago...
I have a friend whose mother named her Listerine and her sister Lavoris
Must have been a bad-breath day. I call my friend Lissy because she has issues with her name and her sister ... I call baby sister. Nether like their names.
