What's your Myers-Briggs personality type?

Nurses General Nursing

If you've ever taken this personality test, what was your type? What speciality of nursing are you in? I'm a student considering the ER and am an INFJ.

I'm an esfj. Just became a LVN so I'm job hunting and worjing on my prerequisites. I really want to work in hospice though.

If they truly were extroverts, then at the end of a typical bedside RN work day they would identify more as extroverts as that's the type of social environment that they would prefer. If they truly were introverts, then they would deflated at the end of a typical bedside RN work day as that is not the type of social environment they would prefer. MB types aren't a hard set rule on what your personality is, it's simply a ratio of your preferences. If someone who self-identifies as an extrovert were to score as an introvert, then it's very possible that they have some introvert qualities. When the MBTI is professionally administered there is a list of not only your prevailing qualities, but a breakdown of the extent of those qualities as you scored (ie, very clear, clear, moderate, slight, and very slight).

In my opinion nursing is a job for extroverted types, hence is why I suspect introverts would be dissatisfied.

Although I was only marginally more extrovert.

Lol I love that!

Well, I'm not too sharp about all things allnurses, but I do know when you start a post, right at the blank form you get to fill in the topic and the post, just after you check the box saying you agree to the TOS, you will see a checkbox at the very bottom right of the page that reads "add poll." If you check that box, the next page will be a form to make a poll.

Since you've already posted, I'm not sure exactly how you'd add one now. Maybe with an edit? (Moderators, please feel free to jump in here!)

Thanks for considering a poll and for coming up with a very interesting topic.

I actually tallied all of them up for you! I quoted the wrong post though :( but it's there for you to see now though!

Why is this INTJ "rare?"

Traditionally, INTJs aren't very socially adept, thanks to their combination of traits. I think as a society we tend to try to force other traits on our kiddos.

According to my research and the official myers-briggs website, my type, infj is actually the rarest

INTJ

ICU nurse, now an educator

Everything I have read about the personality type is that it is very rare for females and not all that compatible with nursing. Most people would see me as an extrovert, but as others have pointed out, being extroverted drains me. I feel like it is a show, but it is one that I am very good at.

Honestly, nursing is not the best fit for me. But it is all I know and I am heavily invested as far as experience and money is concerned. I know I could never truly be happy as a bedside nurse.

INTJ -CNA and pre-nursing student. I find it odd as well as to how many there are of us for something classified as uncommon and incompatible with nursing.
