If you've ever taken this personality test, what was your type? What speciality of nursing are you in? I'm a student considering the ER and am an INFJ.
INTJ. The rarest of them all.
I ran through the questions without "thinking to hard" so as not to skew the results (as much as is possible in a self-assessment quiz).
I got INTJ as well (Acute Dialysis RN here--love a good challenge and shine best when left to my own devices).
Why is this INTJ "rare?"

According to my research, my type, INFJ is actually the rarest The Myers & Briggs Foundation - How Frequent Is My Type

Why is this INTJ "rare?"
Because its an extraordinarily introverted personality type. I don't think it's beneficial to have that many people who don't thrive on social interaction.

Why is this INTJ "rare?"
Lets try this again According to my research and the official myers-briggs website, my type, infj is actually the rarest

Why are so many of us nurses here self-reporting as "Introverts?"It makes me wonder if we are not responding based upon how we feel at the end of a workday or week of clinicals and lecture. Anyone who has taken a basic statistics course surely realizes the limitations of a "test" such as this.Went through and personally tallied them up for you. here is the count so far:ISTJ-7ISFJ-3INFJ-7INTF-0INTJ-6ISTP-1ISFP-0INFP-4INTP-2ESTP-0ESFP-0ENFJ-2ENTJ-1ESTJ-0ENFP-1ENTP-3ESFJ-1

I did mine based on the test result I took on humanmetrics. I was 89% introverted.

No. Not according to the Briggs-Meyers site. It's only moderately introverted. (See above posts regarding "rarest.")
That said, it is interesting to me to see that nearly 50% of the respondents thus far in this thread self-classify themselves as introverts.
Pop culture and popular perception does not identify nurses as introverts. Very interesting dichotomy of possible reality vs. preconception. Hmmmm....

You're welcome! I may just tally up all the personality traits and make a post with that.
