What's your holiday bonus?

Published

Ours last year was a Walmart card for $50. Probably the same this year.

the most i have ever received was $250 - the least was a $10 gift certificate from k-mart and a turkey/ham [choice of]

Bonus? What bonus?

The most I ever received was when I was working outside of nursing, where it was $750.

Sure do miss that bonus, but not the job.

we do very well. we get a gift card for a local grocery chain for $75. NO complaints here. It's more than I got elsewhere. I often donate mine to those in need.

In the military, (both dh and I were in USAF)--- your "bonus" is getting to spend the holiday w/your family, if you are lucky. I consider myself very fortunate to get what I do at my hospital.

we get a calendar so we can keep track of the hours we are suppose to work???

when I worked at this other hospital in CCU the doc's that were internists and cardiologists paid for a very expensive dinner in the nicest place in town. and those that had to work got money 100 bucks. They quit doing that and the doc would all throw money in a hat and idvide it among us which usually turned out to be 100 or 150 bucks, It was a small hospit in a big city and was bought by one of the big guys and closed down. I still miss that place.

The company I work for always gives us a gift with their logo on it, it has been a duffle bag, back pack, blanket, flashlight, just about anything you can think of. However, I work in the clinic and most the doctors will give their nurses a gift. Mine have ranged from 150.00 to 500.00. Some doctors are very generous to their clinic staff:)

I have never received anything as a holiday bonus. When I was little my mom (who worked for the same health system) was able to take us to a holiday party at the hospital. Each child received cookies and punch, a Christmas stocking, and a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. A few nicer gifts were raffled off if I remember correctly. They don't do that anymore... :( Last year I got a free meal in the cafeteria, but it was barely palatable.

My husband got a $150 gift card to a really nice restaurant (and a raise) for his mid-year review. For Christmas we will be going to a party at one of the nicest hotels in town, complete with a free night's stay so that we don't have to drive home. Must be nice to work for a company that values its employees...

I would honestly be happy with a grocery store gift card at this point!

I work at a company that gives us $20 for Thanksgiving for everyone and then a variable Christmas bonus depending on how the business has done that year and how long you've worked there. I had been working there about 9 months part-time and received $75. I thought that was cool considering I only made $8.30 an hour. They also took us all out with our spouses/SO for dinner at the Olive Garden.
