Dear Lord please cover me, cover my patients and my LICENSE!!!!!!

I recite this prayer every morning as I'm driving to work and one last time as I walk through the door.

This is a quote/prayer that I remind myself as it pertains to nursing and in life:

"Do not ask to have your life's load lightened,

But for courage to endure.

Do not ask for fulfillment in all your life,

But for patience to accept frustration.

Do not ask for perfection in all you do,

But for wisdom not to repeat mistakes.

And finally, do not ask for more,

Before saying "Thank You"

For what you have already received".

Jesus, take the wheels of my cart before I run it full speed over this nures that has been disrespecting me all week.

I know she is stressed. I know she has been disrespected by many people. Even though she has no right to redirect the abuse to me, I don't want to hate her for her cruelness. Please help us all to get along and respect each other no matter what our position in the hospital.

"God, thank you for this day. Please help me to see them(patients) as they are shown in your eyes. Help me to take care of my patients the best way I can."

To paraphrase a quote from Mother Teresa:

Please Lord, I know You will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that You didn't trust me so much. :)
