I am finished with first year a week from tomorrow and I am ECSTATIC!!!!
I have so many things to do around the house, like spring cleaning, putting away my winter wardrobe (yeah!) and doing some thorough cleaning!
I also plan to catch up on some TV shows (like renting Dexter) and reading some great books!
But more importantly, I relish spending time with my 2 kids! I have so many things planned - going to the pool, the park, just hanging out in my backyard. And there's much needed catching up with my dear husband too! Maybe I'll have a few drinks too, yummy! My brother is getting married in Las Vegas so that should be interesting!
So what do you plan on doing doing during your break from NS?!
I'm so stoked for summer. I've been in school the past two summers. And in two weeks I will have completed my first semester of nursing school! I will still be working part-time but after doing that and ns, just working will be a piece of cake! I will of course spend lots of time with my kids - zoo, water park, hanging in the backyard. And for me - late spring cleaning of course, but the fun stuff - scrapbooking, reading, throwing lots of backyard bbqs. I can't even imagine.... :roll:smilecoffeecup::yelclap::beer::cheers::anpom:
um yeah, can you tell I'm excited....
I will start ns in the fall, and decided to take my last pre req's over the summer. People have adviced me to just relax and enjoy the summer because I will have plenty to do when school start but I feel the need to get all pre req's done so that I have just nursing classes. I'm so excited I can't sit still and relax.:)

That's probably a good idea actually, I tried to relax the Summer before NS and after a month I was over it, I couldn't wait anymore for school to start! You'll be glad you didn't have to come up with stuff to do to keep your mind busy! But do have some fun...it is not impossible to come by in NS but it is harder to find time for!!!
So sorry for all of you that will be continuing with your classes over summer breakI will be doing nothing NS related!!!!! But somehow I think I will be unable to escape thinking about it and my upcoming last year which will be so much work! 16 weeks of Med/Surg!!! UGH!!!!
Well, we are finishing 16 weeks of Med/Surg and we have another 16 weeks of it in the Fall! The only thing I didn't like about it is our last 6 clinicals were Orthopedics again which I had 16 weeks of last Fall! And having been a CNA in Ortho for 4 years prior to that, let's just say I am sick of knees and hips....and I know where I don't want to work after I graduate!
No rest for me, either!I'm taking two courses just to ease up the fall semester...
Plus working.
I'm in the same boat, but I'm doing the rest of my pre-reqs so I can start clinicals in the fall, I'm 17 and graduating high school in may. 3 weeks to go.
Also working 4 hours a day as a medical transcriptionist. (taking A&P II and College Algebra)
HI All,
I am just finishing my 3rd semester in an ADN program. I will be sitting on my newly constructed deck and swimming with my 2 wonderful children in our fairly new pool (put in late last summer). I can't wait for this break! Here in Wisconsin most tech colleges combine their LPN and ADN programs. Everyone is in the same program and some choose to bow out after 2 semesters with an LPN and others (like myself) go on to finish the ADN portion of the program. This 3rd semester has been much more intense than the first 2 semesters! My goal for this semester was to pass. Normally, I want to keep my GPA as close to 4.0 as I can, but this semester my motto has been "C's get degrees!". Not that I'm pulling a C, but I would have been fine with it. It's been stressful. Students and staff say that 3rd is the most difficult and 4th is not nearly as intense. I can only hope! Here's to a great summer
What summer break?
I get about two weeks off in May before I have to roll to my next nursing class (actually, classes: I have to take one non-nursing class and figured I may as well get it done this summer). Then I get another couple of weeks off before the fall semester starts.
On one hand, I'm kind of relieved that we're just rolling through the summer so I don't get out of "school mode"...at the same time, I'd kill for a couple months where I can forget my textbooks exist.

I will be chilling as much as possible! May 7th will be my last day of finals and I shouldn't have to go back until the end of August to start my junior year. It has just been so demanding this first year that I definately need some relax time. Between work and school and the wife I am drained and its starting to show towards the end of the semester. I'll be glad to have some time to get recharged so I can hop back in and rock the house....well sorta :chuckle!
