Today I am smoking ribs over hickory, making potato salad and watching the horseraces on tv. My husband and the boys are having a few beers and teasing me about pickling long shots - we'll see

My weekends are usually spent catching up on laundry, although we do try to do something outdoorsy one of the days, and my husband makes something a bit fussier for dinner (he does about 90% of the cooking/meal prep

Today I went fishing, grocery shopping, did laundry, and took a nice nap.
Did you catch anything? My husband went fishing last weekend and caught a 60-lb halibut!
I have been watchin Jeremy Wade for years - I love fishing for the relaxation factor, but catching the big ones seems like a lot of work.

Yeah, he was quite sore for a few days. We do have about $600 worth of halibut in our freezer, though.

Watched some baseball (Cubs beat the Pirates). Unpacked and did laundry from a conference trip. Got some upcoming travel plans made and submitted my expense report from the conference.
Tomorrow's nap is already planned.

The husband is gone to his son's house to get it ready to sell. After years of driving an hour plus to work everyday in hairy traffic, his son has finally decided to move closer to the office.
Which means I have the entire day, and the house, to myself. Nice, really nice.
My plan is to roast a pork butt, which I have never done before. Breaking out of old habits!
My Amazon watchlist is at least 20 feet long, so I should just pick a couple. Then write reviews after watching, that is half the fun.
My 4 cats will provide much of the entertainment with their sweet faces, and their reaction to bird sounds outside.
I have been making slow but steady progress on this front, but I should also get together a box and a bag or two for the Salvation Army.
I'll probably indulge in some genealogy, and do my 20 minute stationary bike workout.
Sounds like a full day. There could be some Pinot Noir involved. Liquor stores are now open on Sunday in my state, haha.
The husband should be home in time for the pork roast.

Laundry, clean house, Netflix, AN...
Made some cookies this weekend & played around with my candle making hobby I picked up about a yr ago.
Took a quick walk with my autistic son before the storms rolled in. We walk almost daily, him on his scooter forcing me to keep up.

We usually split the days. We'll do a "family fun day" on the first day, then do clean up or house projects on the second day.
Yesterday we spent the day in the pool and went out shopping at the mall. Today we're demolishing one of the bathrooms so we can renovate it...and doing laundry ugh.
