for OB we're supposed to wear their hospital scrubs to eliminate the possibility of germs. what did you have to wear for your OB rotation, as well as pediatrics, and mental health? i heard we don't wear uniforms or scrubs for mental health because they want you to "blend in", so i guess we wear business casual clothes?

We wore school uniform for OB, unless we were going to watch a C section. For those we changed into hospital scrubs. MH was business casual and peds was normal uniform.

In my experience (as a student and teaching in a few different programs), nursing students have worn street clothes with a lab coat for psych clinical.

For OB when we did a day in actual L&D (the other days were in the post partum mother baby unit) we wore the hospital scrubs, all the nurses and students had too. In Peds we wore our normal uniform and in mother baby too. For Psych I am told we can just wear our regular clothes, that a lot of the people that work at the facility wear jeans, so we will see. We have that orientation this week so we find out than.

We wore street clothes for psych, scrubs for Maternity, scrubs for Peds, and scrubs for Advanced Med/Surg which was our last rotation before we graduated. For everything else the regular school uniform.
