Belfry was the nickname my grandpa gave me. I was an extremely picky eater as a child, and once for breakfast I ate 2 eggs...unheard of for me....and he called me Belfry Two Egg after that. Weird, I know.

neat thread. my chey part serves several points. one my grandma was full native american (i like the name cheyenne but she was seminole) and i tend to be more reserved and 'shy' in person. i am more the peacemaker co dependant type, look for a solution or do it myself rather than hunt someone down to complain to or have do it.

the fire part is the other part of my personality so to speak. you back me into a corner ...... well even a hurt dog can bite......or mess with my patients and i come out like a wall of fire and you can hear "shy" me 3 blocks over raising holy heck. thankfully the fire part is few and far between but what will come out of my mouth usually surprises even me. not cursing so much as straight from the hip blunt honesty telling it like it is period.

example, had a patient many moons ago when i was still a fairly young/new nurse. kid just was not getting better. (later found out it was toxic shock syndrome if you remember the 80's) well this doctor was "god" in that community to boot and here was my patient slowly getting worse and shed been in over a week and now was in a coma and heading for icu so we were walking down the hall making rounds. my mouth sort of is not attached to my brain, its attached to my heart and my passion.

well dr god made the comment "i dont know what to try next" and my mouth said..drum roll please... "well why dont you ship the kid out to a real hospital and a specialist before she lays up here and dies with you."

yep. i ended up in the don's office.

yep they shipped the kid out and she made it. so much for the chey/shy part of me.

WOW, these were all so much fun to read!! Love the names folks!

Mine is also pretty self explanatory - Nocturne = I've always been my best during the night time, always been nocturnal, and Nrse = Nurse, also I LOVE Chopin's Nocturne in E flat Major, Op 9, #2. Just beautiful!! Have yet to master it fully though.

Hera means a lot of things to me and I love Greek mythology. She was considered a goddess of marriage and had quite the jealous streak. Her commitment to her marriage also included high regard for faithfulness and loyalty, which she expected from Zeus, who was not faithful. She sort of set the framework behind the meaning of a loyal, faithful marriage.

Hera also had an ugly side to her; which, I think represents a "woman scorned". She was not nurturing to her kids; regardless, I think her story is heart-breaking.

I relate heavily to Hera's story because of the deceptions and contradictions I witnessed from my own parents practices and beliefs of their own marriage, which ended almost tragically.

I use Hera-she-is because I value loyalty, faithfulness in my husband, children, and everyone I choose to welcome into my life. I too, have a jealous streak, but instead of resorting to the things Hera did, I choose make my jealousy work for me.

My name's Flora so I always have people asking me about Fauna.

I had to look up Fauna, lol!

How original! You definitely put more thought into your name than I did lol! Love it :)

Every user name I was trying to come up with was taken so here I was trying to type on the computer and my pug, who thinks she has to sit on my lap 24/7 if I'm home, was in my way so I thought gotta love the pug! I've been around dogs all my life and she's definately the most loveable dog I've ever had! :paw:

....everything else was taken. LOL

nurses are awesome :)

to Txspadequeenrn: My name is also because I like games. When Pong first came out, I bought it and was just enthralled for hours on end with it. But from the time I could hold Old Maid cards til now, I love card games, board games, video games, you name it! So, when they invented email, I picked a "game" name I thought nobody else would choose: Tiddldwinks, and here I am, 20 years later, still gaming, and still TiddlDwink :D

Specializes in Hospice.

HeavensNurse - I became a nurse for Hospice, and Hospice is my heart and soul... I take care of those who are Heaven bound. My alternate name was SmileIL - as I always have a smile on my face (and I used to live in IL!). I've been told both apply and I've had them for ages, and will continue to do so. Hospice actually put me through nursing school and I got my hands on experience in an inpatient hospice unit. I have truly been blessed! Hoping everyone has a wonderfully Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!:redbeathe
