What are the top paid nurses?!

Published

I'm just wondering....

Specializes in Oncology/Haemetology/HIV.
Calif is going to be the highest paying state going, maybe New York

Actually as a traveler, New York does not pay all that well...I have had Philadelphia and Baltimore pay better than Manhattan.

But I cannot speak for the West coast.

geez, miss nurse bling, bling I was wonderin where do rich nurses go for their vacations the bahamas, rome?

At VUMC I make 42/hr day 48/hr night for the float pool RNs with no insurance...am able to get as much overtime as I want and ratios are GREAT!... bring in 129000/yr with overtime mixed in...love it!

How many yrs of experience do you have? Which part of county? Which area? to bring in $129k?

Thanks.

what is a ACP mean in nursing?

Thanks

Wow.. I've been a staff nurse for almost 30 years now in a suburban hospital thats part of one of the large cleveland health systems and I only make 27.80 an hour, 28.80, for the last four hours of a 12 hour shift. I could never imagine making 40.00 an hour at this hospital. They will occasionally offer time and a half for staying over but I'm usually there for 14 hours finishing up anyway and am really tired now at the end of the shift.

From my research in the highest paid nurses, I have found that CRNA and NP are the highest paid. It also depends on where you live in the USA. If you want to work for and agency you can make about $50 an hour, but you are responsible for purchasing medical and . Agency work is only good if you are married, because sometime there is work and sometimes not,but you can always make up your own hours, also you can have medical insurance under your spouse, but you do need liability as a nurse on you own, if you decided to work for the agency. For a new nurses starting in Philadelphia you would usually start out about $24-$26 an hour, then move up to about $35 an hour. Also the amout of years as a nurses and how fast you move up in your career as a nurse, I have an aunt who makes about $100,000 a year, but she has been in nurses approximately 20 years. A nurse in Philadelphia makes about a pretty good salary and have an excellent benefit package as well as a sign on bonus depending on what hospital you sign on with.

These is the average nurse salaries here in Maryland and in Washington DC. I got it from swiz
