Something to understand what nurses think about re the Current News and their opinions!

Speaking of charter schools, they’re a pretty textbook case of cost-shifting. Privately owned schools get to tap into all that juicy taxable real-estate, taxpayers get to pay them on top of trying to keep public schools’ lights on. It’s especially hard on economically depressed areas that don’t have a strong tax base but are legally responsible for providing free public schooling to all the children in their catchment area.

That's why vouchers are important to allow minorities to get a decent education.

And what happens to the students left behind? Or the public school system stuck paying private companies out of their own budget? Once again, private business sucking the taxpayer teat dry. Isn’t that doubleplusungood when it’s a woman on welfare?

Speaking of charter schools and school choice, It might be interesting to see if there’s any mention of the damage done to the public school systems. They were kneecapped by the increasing proportion of economically unattractive (ie more expensive to educate) students. Does the movie address possible effects that charter schools have on publc school systems?

Or the ability of the Devos family and their ilk to make tons more money selling the charter schools their educational wares.  Charter schools did absolutely nothing to improve the testing scores of kids in Detroit.  Big flops.  It is disheartening to see how people dismiss educators as "elite college graduates" while they think they know pegagogy better than anyone else.  Somehow they are happy to have to standards lowered to thair own expectations rather than what the kids need in the real world.

No one knows what was said and when asked to post it goes off the deep end.

TMB told you where he posted it. That you chose not to look is not the same as “nobody knows” You don’t know- and you deliberately chose that option.

Said go look for it.  I simply asked what they said.  I find it odd that others have to come to TMBs defense all the time.

There's nothing odd about it at all.  He is someone who has debating skills and brings the facts to the table.  You?  Not so much with your over-broad character assassinations of entire groups of people and inability to defend any of your points with precise English or reason.

Stick to testicle tanning … TMB never needed me to speak for him. When I agree with him, I get to say so. You’re just not happy dealing with the same answers you give everyone else.
