What's hilarious is both houses lost and the presidency and looking for bamboo fibres in Arizona instead of the Jewish laser burning down their houses!

Who's been drinking the lizard blood now ???

Look at the difference in the faces and the smiles of everyone compared to when Trump was around!

You can see how more relaxed everyone is and the headlines are so much better compared to when the orange ape just brought our country down with his boorish behaviors!

By the way if anyone hasn't visited Cornwall, you are missing a treat! It's spectacularly beautiful. You might have a problem with the accent but the food and scenery are amazing. You have to go Bodmin as it's called locally.

I agree.  I see no reason why Ms. Omar shouldn't be allowed to wear her hijab.

And, the the previous House rule didn't ban religious attire, it was a ban against wearing head coverings, of any style and had been in effect 181 years.

The house changed the rule when she was elected.  I wonder why we don't see MAGA hats in the chambers?  And I would love to see my Wiccan friend who wears a sacred codpiece and a helmet with horns for officiating on cross-quarter holidays insist on wearing that outfit if he had come in to vote on a holiday.  Eventually some fool will take congress up on this new permission to wear hats.  It's just a matter of time.  As for IO:  This guy says what I am trying to say but he articulates it better than I - I'm sorry I didn't find this article before now:

Good Question. “There’s a special story to be told about Minnesota,” says Ahmed Samatar, the founding dean of the Kofi Annan Institute for Global Citizenship at Macalester College. Dr. Samatar arrived in the U.S. in 1974 as a student at the University of Wisconsin.

No one knows what the Somali population is in Minneapolis but if you take the lowest number it pretty much equates with the Jewish population.  According to the Minneapolis Star (which I can't cut and paste here), the Jewish population increased by 23%.  Minneapolis has always been Jewish welcoming as well as welcoming a variety of immigrants (many Russian Jews there).  So it's really disappointing that Omar, who received around 80% of the Jewish vote would turn around and spread slurs - to which she has to do another turn around and apologize.  IMHO, she has a failed belief system but the smarts to let her true feelings out and then take it back as standard operating procedure.  It would never occur to me to cast aspersions on anyone for the way they were born, especially since they came out to vote for you in such large numbers.  It's such an ahole thing to do.

Did anyone watch the G7? I wonder what's happened to Boris? He's one of the funniest people alive and he wasn't cracking a joke at all. He really is a naturally funny gifted person without any effort whatsoever. Even in the most serious of situations his mannerisms and way of speech would have you cracking up and you would never know if he was being deliberately stupid or not.

It's the reason the Brits allow him to get away with his nonsense. Obviously he's not an idiot, he's an Eton boy, but I don't think his buffoonery would would work on Merkel or Macron. Pity!

Would you please share her comments in which Omar cast aspersions on someone for where  they were born? I'm aware of her most recent remarks about Israel, Hamas, the Taliban and the USA which upset folks and resulted in an apology/clarification. Again, I am not offended by opinionated people apologizing, apparently you are.  I'm offended by opinionated people refusing to apologize, outright lying to the American people, doubling down on propaganda and lies, and then fundraising off the video snippets designed for the voting base that is afraid to venture outside of narrow right wing media.

I wonder if you were offended by Matt Gaetz wearing a gas mask or MTG wearing messaging that says that Trump Won or that she is censored when they are at work? Maybe those bits of their wardrobe choices reflected their new religion, eh?

Regardless of why, or when, the rule was changed, it was never a ban on religious garb.

ETA: Nor does this explicitly apply to her.

If he did, and this was his deeply held religious belief, then yes, he should have as much right to do so as Ms. Omar.

No doubt.  And when he or she does, I'm sure that it will be addressed.

Whether she is an anti-Semite, or not, isn't the issue here.  The issue is whether or not she should be allowed to wear her hijab.

The military has allowed waivers for religious headgear for years, why should our Congress be any different?

Deflection.  I'm not talking about Gaetz.  Not talking about MTG. And you absolutely know that I consider them deplorable.  Just don't want to see anytime soon the specter of a sea of MAGA hats in chambers and repudiation of this rule opens the doors for that.  I don't read right wing media so I have no idea what you are talking about.  I have never seen any fundraising snippets.  Do I feel the same way about Rashida Tlaib?  No.

The exemption written into the rules was primarily an exemption for a religious head covering.   Even considering the consideration of wearing a head cover for medical reasons or hair loss, I still suspect you won't see a "sea of MAGA hats."

Really?  I'm not sure how, or what, you consider "right wing media," but some are reliable sources.  In my opinion, a source shouldn't be excluded simply based on whether it means right or left, but rather on whether it is factual and reliable.

Nah. I wasn't deflecting, I was referencing what other members of the House have decided to wear while they are working.  I guess their wardrobe choices don't offend you the way the religious garb does. You seem to have promoted a very narrow view of what is acceptable or unacceptable for a representative to wear while working.  Normal clothing bothers you but the other does not.
