It sounds like you should explain sodomy laws to us.  Why did so many states write sodomy laws in the 70s, in your informed opinion? Did those laws apply evenly to hetero and gay people in all of those states?

Yes. I agree with that assessment.  I think it sounds like they have never heard of these laws but they comment with a very authoritative style.
